Mark Knoffler: Can play any kind of music on a guaitar....the BEST. The BEST PERIOD.

Stevie Ray Vaughan....they all just marveled...The guy was amazing.

Knoffler is a great guitarist and very underrated by the public.

Knopfler is a great fingerstyle guitarist. You don't see many of these types of players in the rock genre. Danny Gatton is the only other one that comes to mind. But if you mention Knopfler you have to mention Les Paul and Chet Atkins. They all played the same style, and Knopfler greatly admired Atkins and even recorded with him.

Vince Gill can also slap a guitar. He's probably about the best in Nashville. I still remember when he was a member of a local bluegrass band called Mountain Smoke. I saw them live several times back in the 70's. Gill could flat out "git it" on the geetar.
