Old-fashioned comedy: Red Skelton

'New' comedy: Sam Kinnison, Steven Wright, Dennis Leary

Funniest comedy CD I've ever heard: Derek and Clive 'Come Again'

come_again.jpg

"Derek [Dudley Moore] and Clive [Peter Cook] set the standards for breathtakingly obscene yet at the same time, disconcertingly erudite spoken word comedy in the 1970s.

No taboo was left unshattered as their output plumbed new depths never since approached by popular prime-time celebrities."

Here are the routines on that CD - I swear it's the funniest thing I ever heard ...

You Stupid Cunt *
Coughin' Contest
Cancer
Non-Stop Dancer / My Mum Song
Joan Crawford
Norman The Carpet
How's Your Mother
Back Of The Cab
Alfie Noakes
Nurse
In The Cubicles
Ross McPharter
Hello Colin

I Saw This Bloke

I LOVED Dudley Moore and Peter Cook on "Bedazzled", and I'm also a huge fan the Monty Phyton gang.
And R.I.P Chris Farley... specially the "Chippendale" and the Ice Skating gags!

Anybody who said Dennis Leary does not know the first thing about comedy. Dennis Leary stole almost his entire act from Bill Hicks. Dennis Leary is a hack and deserves to die.

Thanks Jazz for bringing back some good memories. Red Skelton was and still is my all time favorite. I remember watching his show with my grandfather. That was a long time ago but still seems like just yesterday.

Thanks, Lurker!!! I've got the CD but now some people can hear these 2 maniacs - the 'Cancer' bit is just too ****ing funny - sadly, both of them are dead now, ironically Peter Cook died of cancer

Shit, the 'Cancer' tracks don't have the routine, just the first part - not sure why

IMO, Don Rickles is no doubt right up there. Steven Wright has some funny stuff and I really like his style. But saw him out here in Vegas and laughed out loud about twice. Waste of money. Actually, believe it or not, Carrot Top has been one of my favorite shows in Vegas. Got a comp and unexpextedly LMFAO. Dice can still make you laugh and is worth his price every couple years.

Redd Foxx and Rodney were no doubt classic events for me.

But for the dirtiest of all comics Dr. Dirty aka John Valby, is no doubt a must see or hear.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

He wasn't laugh out loud funny, but from a creative genius, weird type of way, I'd go with Andy Kaufman.
For Laugh out loud funny- Curly Howard.

I agree with Lou, carrot top is very funny and well worth seeing if you have a comp.
Saw him about a year ago and was very suprised at how funny the show was.
