All the hate for Bruce. Go figure. His early stuff was ground breaking. Up to The River I can listen to over and over. My votes are for Journey ans Boston.

I'm willing to listen Bruce's early stuff. I only have his greatest hits not a single album. I'm guessng is quite different than the heartland pop folk I associate him with.

I think early Aerosmith (until the 90's) is a great band.

Kiss is a band managed by an egomaniac asshole with a few good songs. They don't deserve the kiss army or that good flick Detroit Rick City for that matter. Alice Cooper was way cooler and better musician all around (and people) and he was the first real shock rocker.

Grateful Dead my favorite band of all time. You either love it or hate it. There is no in between. Agree with The Judge early springsteen is great. Band I think is overrated would be Kiss or Aerosmith.

Yup agree with all this except the Aerosmith part, I like them.

I would definitely say U2.

I know I'm gonna get hate for this but I never was a big Beatles fan either.

Rush - They pretend they have some deep, philosophical message...I just don't get it
Pink Floyd - Sounds like a mishmash of noise to me
Dave Matthews band - Every single song of theirs sounds like it's the first time these guys have ever played together

Led Zeppelin needs to be on the list, just for the fact that they plagiarized half their songs.

That would be my vote. I call them a cover band with a wailing cat as a lead singer and a really good guitarist. I rather like Jimmy Page and I think Zep has some pretty good songs. Most of them I don't care for, mostly because of Plant's wailing voice.

Most overrated is a tie between The Beatles and Guns & Roses.

I think part of Springsteen's mass popularity has to do with his proximity to the NYC media market. There are some influential people (Peter King & Chris Russo come to mind) who almost never stop talking about him (and the silly myth that he's some lower class every man) and I think that has made his legend grow larger. If Bruce were from Oklahoma City he'd have the same career as John Cougar.

I don't get it either with Springsteen. His first few albums up to the River were classics. If you can have a strong catalog of music through your first 5 albums and you put on the best live show in the country, your not overrated no matter what you do after that. Springsteen has already made his mark in music. Just because you don't like his style or his music, it doesn't make him overrated...

All the pop stars out there today = Bieber, Beyonce, Timberlake, Miley Fkng Cyrus, these people take the stage and the girls just shriek to holy hell. Do they not notice that they and most use voice synthesizers? It's all aout the visual aspect of a concert now. Backwards. Open your damn ears!

Right on! One of the best writers /composers of all time. Hope you don't think he is overrated despite all the reverence given to him from the music world. He is one of few who deserve that ethereal status.
