Al Bundy

He once threw 5 touchdowns in one game in High School.

If he doesn't count, then I say Tiger for sure.

It was 4 touchdowns and he changed his position a few times on the show. He has called himself a halfback and fullback but then gives a throwing motion sometimes when referring to his Polk High Career.

He also never played in the 2nd half as the team was too far up. Hahaha

China and India account for 32% of the worlds population and I don't think either of those countries give a damn about soccer.

If you guys are talking about retired athletes, it's Muhammed Ali, and it's not close.

You guys are not taking the world's population into this at all.

Soccer IS popular in China and India, they actually have soccer leagues that offer juicy retirement destinations for old soccer players...

Most popular is either Messi or Ronaldo.

Nadal is up there... but there is just not a dominant star on american sports right now, and sorry guys, but LBJ is famous, not popular.

The question was most recognizable . Being popular is not required
