Phil Mickelson has a DVD out on his golfing techniques. He preaches square to square. I think it's one of the simplest basic technique in putting.{/quote} Phil Mickelson is not a classic square-to-square(straight back-straight through) putter. While he tries to keep his putter face square at all times, he swings it on an arc(almost none on short putts). His putter lies too flat and his shoulders don't tilt enough to stay on a true SBST path.
You can watch that little ball all you want, but if you sway(slide) or dip(reverse pivot) on your backswing, it won't save you. 1)Learn to grip the club in your fingers so you can hinge(cock)properly. 2) line your feet and shoulders parallel to your target line. 3) Keep a consistent spine angle during your entire swing.playeda few times and it was alot funner than i thought it would be
got into it for about a year or so
best advise is practice at the driving range, keep you eye on the ball, and its not how hard you swing but the technique, my friend, who is a girl, is 5ft nothing about 110lbs and sometimes she would out drive me
Ben Hogan was a terrible hooker(left left left) until he switched to a very weak left hand grip(thumb down the center of the shaft). Even though it worked for him, I wouldn't advise it to anyone. When I was 18 years old, a famous instructor who had tutored under Hogan, changed my grip and it ruined my game for a long time. To hinge properly, your left thumb must be on the right side of the shaft. Good luckFive Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf..
