How "close" are those people in places you say are "packed with people". That sounds unsafe. If just one person were infected in a place packed with people like sardines, it could easily result in hundreds and thousands soon becoming infected as a result of just that one person.

Your town outside a major densely populated area, outside Boston, may not be hard hit...yet. Why? Likely because the virus has not, relatively speaking, arrived there yet, as it has in places like NYC. Your town probably doesn't get a lot of people returning from places like China, Iran & Italy. Even Boston probably doesn't relative to NYC.

They've set up "social distancing" which is all you can do. Making isles one way (at our local grocery stores). Marking 6 ft between people in check out lines. We have people that work in Boston and live in my town, commuter rail goes right through. It hit our town over a month ago. Its been here, just not spreading which tells me people in our town are taking it seriously which they should. It also tells me if you're careful there is nothing to worry about. The fear mongering falls on deaf ears for me.

A place like a nursing home or veterans house is just a breeding ground for terrible hygiene. Once it gets into a building like that with elderly or sick people that are constantly being attended too.....its probably impossible to get rid of.

Thankfully I don't have family members in that condition.

I licensed an infomercial ( bob lobel if you can believe it was the pitch man ) and with a group we paid for ad slots and managed a telemarketing sales force .. incoming sales calls for calcium pills from infomercials .. that was about 94-95 .. the 90s was amazing man .. aids patients selling their life insurance policies for a pennies on the dollar up front , when Magic got aids people weree freaking out remember .. they were dropping like flies in NYC .. i think the panic was worse than this coronavirus .. everyone thinking about all the unprotected sex they had in mexico, vegas etc

Easy to say one is not afraid of the virus - now - while one is healthy. Many of those same people would be peeing their panties if they got infected & started getting some of the COVID-19 symptoms, especially the serious ones, or ended up in ICU.

I have 0% change of getting it because I'm careful.

You'ld have to practically be out in the wilderness alone forever to do that.

You can take safety precautions (mask wearing, etc) to greatly lower your risk close to 0%, but you can't keep others who act foolishly from putting you in danger. For example, a grocery store manager who walks up to within 2 feet of you while talking to you & releasing virus out of his mouth. That's how easy it is for some fool to kill you.

I'm social distancing, I protect myself outside of the home. I'm extremely careful and that is how I know I have a 0% chance of getting this.

Distancing and closing shit down has worked. But now the curve has flattened (never spiked in my town) so transmitting it is the longest of long shots.
Probably have a better chance to hit the local Lottery than dying of Corona in my area.

roughly 50 cases outside of a nursing home in my town, 50! Out of 22,000 people. Thats .2% of people who are sick enough to even get a test.

The situation may not be overblown in places like NYC, but its a whole lot of nothing in 99% of this country. FACTS lol
