You say take the team with the worse SOS?
I would give a "plus" to the team with the 10 point better SOS, Dallas, (I actually look at a 10 pt differential as being a factor) but of course the wager decision depends on the spread, injuries, QB, OL, front 7, home vs road, coach, weather, turf, recent success, and all else.
Last night it was still a bit early to look at SOS but it was so obvious with Philly at #32 that I had to consider it, and the topic of the thread was who has Philly beaten so I jumped in.
@Serbone

I'm sorry you're correct. I had it backwards. Here's a link.

Yes Wild Card Weekend is a whirlwind of factors, the 10 pt SOS differential helps, you see a hot team with all the hyped narrative as an attractive favorite then notice their SOS is much weaker than the quiet little road dog...

I never bet on SOS alone, never said I do. It is a good tool in certain situations.
When there are several solid reasons to go with one side, and only SOS for the other, then of course they override SOS.
I could have listed much more on why to go with Washington, and for that matter, also some good reasons to go with Philly, too.
Most posters offer NO rationale, who knows where they come up with their picks*? Some win and good for them. This board is unfortunately a picking contest but should be for exchanging information, stats, matchups, theories, injuries, weather... rationale. When I talk about a game I include my rationale, the reasons that I see that might differ from other's approach, not everything, why should I?
This thread was good in that there was some exchange---for a change.
Too bad some lightweights like Mk1 do not get it...

*I caught one well known poster several yrs ago who posted all of Wayne Rood's picks every time, inserted one of his own, usually a favorite, to disguise it

Dallas Goedert (shoulder) out for Eagles multiple weeks

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert will miss extended time with a shoulder injury, reports Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

What It Means:
Goedert suffered the injury in Monday night's loss to the Washington Commanders. The severity of the injury is unclear at this time, but Goedert is expected to play again this season. Quez Watkins, DeVonta Smith, and A.J. Brown will likely be the primary beneficiaries while Goedert is sidelined. Jack Stoll and rookie Grant Calcaterra will play most of the tight end snaps in place of Goedert, but neither of them should be involved much in the passing game.

Goedert is averaging 5.9 targets per game and his 20.8% target share is fourth-highest among all tight ends with at least 20 targets this season. His 2.58 yards per route run is second to none in that group.

Eagles now down Maddox, Davis and Goedert. Expect to have them all return in late December. Eagles run defense is highly suspect even when Davis returns. 49ers are the most formidable and have the recipe to beat Eagles. They will have to go on the road to do so even if they overtake Seahawks in the division. Eagles now tied with Vikings for best record in NFC though Eagles hold tiebreaker. Eagles playing Cowboys away on Christmas Eve which will be third road game in a row. They will be underdog in that game. Comes down to health. Also hard to beat division opponent both games during season. If Eagles have to go on road to play Vikings in playoffs not the worse thing. They would be more focused. Also Eagles fans will do whatever takes to buy tickets for that game. Could easily see them putting 10,000 fans in the stands. US Bank Stadium familiar place for Kelce, Graham, Cox, Johnson, Elliot who won the Super Bowl there. Eagles have overachieved this season. Total wins were 9 1/2. They have two first round picks next season holding the Saints pick which is going to be a top 10. Will be Super Bowl contender for many years even with paying Hurts a ton on his next contract though a lot players aren't going to be here anymore because he is going to take a big chunk of the cap.

The Niners obviously have enough talent but their chances ride solely on Graoppalo.

Very unfortunate to lose Goedert and it's adding insult to injury.
Bad enough the face mask penalty is ignored but now a top 3 offensive player is out 4 wks or more
The Eagles lost the game but the officials did them no favors

Very true but sometimes the loss can be beneficial . Takes the bullseye out of the equation. Hard to imagine the nfc east back to its glory days. Giants lose to lions this week
