Philly is 8-0, but they're not 8-0 good. Their only impressive win is against Minnesota. Call me crazy, but I'm telling you, Dallas and SF are better than the Eagles.
OK you are crazy. What makes the Rams World Champions? Isn't it their record so how do you just ignore that and crown a 3 loss team "Dallas" better? The current records don't count?
Philly has only played 2 winning teams.......Wash may have lost them all but they have played 4 winning teams
This is the old fall back ... Do you know there are only 5 winning teams in the NFC and the Eagles played 2 of them with 3 still on their schedule?
The 2nd best team is Minn do you know they only beat two winning teams also.

For starters, Dallas' defense is superior to the Eagles defense. Who Philly has played and beaten, which are a bunch of subpar teams? I'm not saying that they're not a good team, but they are not the best team in the NFL or even the NFC just because they're undefeated. They are being exposed right now!

Washington will get them tonight. I have that feeling. Just like yesterdays GB/Dal game. Everyone was all over Dallas. Tonights game same feeling. Every since Heinicke stepped in he has given Commanders a chance . Its the 2nd go around for these two this season. Eagles got them first round with Wentz. I think its comin tonight. When everyone least expects it. Just my thought.

I guess the feeling was right!! Boom!!

I didn’t say beat them straight up, they are getting +11.5.

Teams in Eagles situation “go thru the motions” sometimes.

Milton Berle game, maybe.
Good job Serbone if you took WC! I could not decide so ended up on Hurts -243 passing and won!

I was going to pass but then looked at how Wash has covered with Heinicke and they just lost a close game to Minny... and Minny just beat the Bills in Buffalo.
After the initial 1pm EST games it is wise to look at the next games and who they played last game, it matters.
SO I put a few bucks on Washington---it played out exactly as I originally thought/hoped.

I never bet on SOS alone, never said I do. It is a good tool in certain situations.
When there are several solid reasons to go with one side, and only SOS for the other, then of course they override SOS.
I could have listed much more on why to go with Washington, and for that matter, also some good reasons to go with Philly, too.
Most posters offer NO rationale, who knows where they come up with their picks*? Some win and good for them. This board is unfortunately a picking contest but should be for exchanging information, stats, matchups, theories, injuries, weather... rationale. When I talk about a game I include my rationale, the reasons that I see that might differ from other's approach, not everything, why should I?
This thread was good in that there was some exchange---for a change.
Too bad some lightweights like Mk1 do not get it...

*I caught one well known poster several yrs ago who posted all of Wayne Rood's picks every time, inserted one of his own, usually a favorite, to disguise it

Speaking of SOS there's a very good SOS strategy for the wild card round of the playoffs. If I remember correctly its to take the team with at least a 10 rank differential in SOS if they're a dog. For instance Dallas #4, Seattle #14 or worse, play is Seattle. Just as an example. Its only for the wild card round. Not sure if that rings a bell to you or not.

You say take the team with the worse SOS?
I would give a "plus" to the team with the 10 point better SOS, Dallas, (I actually look at a 10 pt differential as being a factor) but of course the wager decision depends on the spread, injuries, QB, OL, front 7, home vs road, coach, weather, turf, recent success, and all else.
Last night it was still a bit early to look at SOS but it was so obvious with Philly at #32 that I had to consider it, and the topic of the thread was who has Philly beaten so I jumped in.

Yeah its an older system that seems to work every season in the wild card round only. Take the team with the worse SOS with at least a 10 point differential as a dog. Its hit at a very high rate or at least it has in the past. I'll see if I can find the exact info.
