Kinda seems like you might have a little bias here...

Penn State got smoked by that Michigan squad.

It was not a surprize, though, considering Michigan has defeated them both and the Buckeyes just knocked off Michigan. Here is the playoff pic: http://a3.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=%2Fphoto%2F2016%2F1129%2FCF_PLAYOFFPICTURE_1296x729.jpg&w=570

Just a bit.... should be Michigan lost to Iowa who lost to SDSU. PSU beat Iowa 41-14. Final polls before kickoff today..... We'll see shortly, PSU looks small in size, maybe why Franklin rotates his Dee-Off lines....... No rematch of 2015.......

Committee is supposed to reward teams for improving throughout the course of the year. PSU right now is obviously a different team then the one that got drilled by Michigan, just like USC is not the same team that got drilled by Bama.

Who did UW beat? Where are their signature wins? Wazzou?

Edit: Yeah Colorado was a good win.

This just strengthens the argument to move to an 8 team playoff. Power 5 winners get automatic bids, plus 3 at-large.

Those 8 teams get seeded by the committee.

Then you would have something like:

1 Bama
2 Clemson
3 OSU
4 Washington
5 Michigan
6 Oklahoma
7 USC
8 Penn St

No one is really left out in this scenario.

If you win a power 5 conference it should mean something. It should be an automatic bid to the playoff, period.

How does basketball get this so right and football gets it so wrong?

At least they're moving in the right direction.

Ya, that's a fair argument. It's just hard to elevate Penn State over a team that has one loss with that loss being to a USC team that has been top 5 quality once they made the move to Darnold. As far as good wins go, UDub drilled #18 Stanford 44-6, smoked #8 Colorado 41-10, won 45-17 at their rival Wazzu(who was top 25 at the time) and won at #20 Utah. Your argument is a fair one, though.

Stanford is not a quality win. Stop with that. :)

I think the argument should be about PSU-OSU. At this point, PSU has snatched it away "on the field". But there may be other factors in play, i.e., does PSU still have some time left to serve?

I agree with you. I think Penn St/Ohio St is what should be discussed.

I don't think Mich has a chance to get in. you cant take a team who finished 3rd in there conference over two teams that won their conference

Washington has to be in. If not in, they're really just moneying it.

Agree with the 8-team deal. Four is just too few teams. Also, it would give an outsider a chance. West Mich is undefeated and around #11 .... but year in and year out you have these outsider teams that could squeak in.

And if you look at 1-8 right now... those teams are stacked. You can't say a legit champion doesn't emerge from there this year or most years. 8 is the perfect #.

Agree 100% with this. ^^^^

I am no fan of USC in particular but this is the answer, would have been an excellent answer, the best possible solution

to where we are right now.

I have no IDEA why NCAA Committee cannot adapt, act on the fly and do this ^^^^

You get USC into this thing and Interest in their Playoff increases so much.

You mold a way to get PSU, Michigan and Oklahoma in and you achieve Fairness.

Row The fuggin Boat NCAA Committee.

8 Team Playoff.

Now.
