Give me a W!
Give me an A!
Give me an L!
Give me a squiggly!
Give me an M!
Give me an A!
Give me an R!
Give me a T!
What's that spell?
Wal-Mart!
Whose Wal-Mart is it?
It's my Wal-Mart!
Who's number one?
The customer! Always!
Don't be alarmed if you hear these enthusiastic shouts from our associates as you're shopping at your favorite Wal-Mart store. It's our cheer. Although some people may think it's corny, we're proud of it. It's the way we show pride in our company.
Over the years, our company has grown to include stores, associates, and customers in many parts of the world, so now our cheer can be heard in many languages.
The cheer originated after our founder, Sam Walton, visited a tennis ball factory in Korea where the workers did a company cheer and calisthenics together every morning. He liked the idea and couldn't wait to get back home to try it with his associates.
He said, "My feeling is that just because we work so hard, we don't have to go around with long faces all the time while we're doing all of this work, we like to have a good time. It's sort of a 'whistle while you work' philosophy, and we not only have a heck of a good time with it, we work better because of it." We have fun, we work hard, and we always remember whom we're doing it for...the customer.

korn, no offense meant towards you bro. i know that you and b-bop shower regularly and change your kids diapers...even though you arent making the big bucks.

hope you guys have a great christmas. do they sell infant isu pants at the walmart in atlanta? that'd make a nice gift this holiday season for the twins.

Ha. No Walmart in Atlanta man. This is small town central. I moved here to start a business. But in Bloomington, I'll have to check on that. I got 'em decked out in Illini gear though.

"Predatory Pricing," aka "outcompeting" was created to protect firms that can't compete. Lots of money was spent purchasing these laws. Even if Wallmart could put someone out of business by drastically reducing prices, they would invite competition back the second they start raising prices again. It's as simple as that. In the meantime, consumers make out like bandits if this were to ever really happen.
From who? The small store owners who were already forced to declare bankrupcy due to Wal-mart's underhanded tactics? Or from new individuals who would be forced out of business themselves once Wal-mart did the same thing to them?

Appeal to authority fallacy. Just because it's illegal doesn't make it wrong. Gambling online is illegal. Do you think gambling online is wrong?
Of course not. It's not only illegal, it's unethical. Should companies ignore OSHA regulations or pollution regulations simply because it would make for cheaper prices? That's essentially your argument. "Yes, it may lead to the unemployment of small business owners and those who work for them due to underhanded, illegal practices, but hey, at least now they can save a nickel on a bottle of shampoo! See?? We all win!!"

I'm done with you, it's like trying to argue with a rock, with a nastier disposition.

Please understand that if you buy any clothing at Walmart you are white trash - I guess if you pick up some socks I'll let it slide.

Former Senator John Edwards Turns to Wal-Mart for PlayStation3
Thursday November 16, 4:11 pm ET
Even Presidential Candidates Agree: Wal-Mart is the Best Place to Shop for Hot Electronics Items this Christmas Season

BENTONVILLE, Ark., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Just like the millions of Americans who turn to their neighborhood Wal-Mart (NYSE: WMT - News) for their holiday shopping needs, Wal-Mart announced today that former Sen. John Edwards is seeking to be one of the first to get a Sony PlayStation3, one of the most coveted holiday gift items this Christmas season.

Yesterday, a staff person for former Sen. Edwards contacted a Wal-Mart electronics manager in Raleigh, North Carolina to obtain a Sony PlayStation3 on behalf of the Senator's family. Later that night, Sen. Edwards reportedly re-told a homespun story to participants of a United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) union-sponsored call about how his son had chided a fellow student for purchasing shoes at Wal-Mart.

Wal-Mart welcomes Sen. Edwards to visit his local Wal-Mart store and explore the extensive line of home electronics as well as the Metro7 line shoes for men and boys.

The Company noted the PlayStation3 is an extremely popular item this Christmas season, and while the rest of America's working families are waiting patiently in line, Senator Edwards wants to cut to the front. While, we cannot guarantee that Sen. Edwards will be among one of the first to obtain a PlayStation3, we are certain Sen. Edwards will be able to find great gifts for everyone on his Christmas list - many at Wal-Mart's "roll-back prices."

Do you have any evidence of this actually happening? Show me some evidence of Walmart putting someone out of business then jacking up the prices higher than what that small business was charging. In a month of class you MUST have went over this.

Show me a "tickle me elmo" that cost $20 at a local store, then Walmart made them go out of business and started selling it for $25.

I don't see how I implied any of that. I said that just because something is a law, doesn't mean it is right. I never said that all laws aren't right.

I don't see anything nasty in my last post. Maybe you are just getting upset that you can't come up with any salient points? You took the affirmative position, the burden of proof is on you.

I'm going to bed now, but if you care to actually debate the issue, I welcome a response. I'll read it in the morning. My goal isn't to make you feel dumb, it's to change your position on the issue because I think it's very harmful that people like you think that way. Lots of bad shit has happened to our country because of good-hearted socialists. Sometimes, i find out that I am wrong.

I get a kick out of when broke people talk about being broke as if it is something "noble" - if you repeatedly shop at Walmart there is a substantial chance you are white trash - doesn't make you a bad person or classless - just steroptypical white trash.

Please note - if I wanted a cheap tv and walmart had the model I wanted I would get it at walmart.

Kind of like the guy who gets the cat litter for $100 off.

1) target has very good prices, in my experience. people with money to burn dont shop at target...they shop at some tower in new york or somewhere

2) i dont ever drink tea...unless i have a really bad sore-throat.

3) these people stunk...bad! remember the seinfeld when the car stunk so bad they had to get rid of it? that is what we are dealing with. i dont need that...i dont care if i can save 50 cents on a box of kleenex.

please dont take my post as derogatory. I didnt mean it that way. I for one spent pretty much all of college shopping only at walmart..(my daddy and mommy simply werent rich enough to buy me stuff from those F@g catalogs like Abercrombie...

It was pure economics that led me to utilize the convenience superstore known as walmart.

And lets be real, on some level we are all snobs. There are clubs and bars i simply wont drink at because i dont like the riff raff that go there every night and throw bottles and grab your girls ass without asking!!!!

So you can call me a bar snob, you are a shopping snob..(We are some what the same..)

(Though i friggin wont eat at those uppity ass restaurants where you pay 100 bucks for some guy to burn your 12$ freakin steak..And you have to make reservation 6 months ahead of time!!! HEll fvcking no...i wont eat there!!!!!

But jokes aside. The only reason target didnt close down is because rich people that dont want to mix with the walmart lowerclass shop there. That demographic single handedly keeps them in business. I kid you not. Its a fact. I have seen surveys on tv where target shoppers were questioned about the price difference and they responded with those typical politically correct terms like "better quality" (target has the same stuff that walmart has) better selection (code for i dont have to push over that dirty mexican and her 4 smelly kids to get my can of glade...) and b.s like that.

Its the simple truth that divides, upper class from lower class.

I don't see Walmart as being so white, the local one seems to attract rather racially diverse customers.

I went to one last time in Vegas ( Stewart and Nellis, I think were the cross-streets), it was like being in Tijuana. Nobody in the store spoke English.

I have read that the average sports bettor makes 75K/ year on average...I bet it is not that high, but definetely close to the truth. How many carpenters and mechanics and machinests are betting sports. I doubt many.

When my business takes off and I am rolling in the dough, I will still shop at walmart...they aren't that bad around here.

When I say white trash - I mean the stereotypical minority too - I am talking about overweight women with 3 kids running up the aisles and crying - or men missing several teeth or at least severely crooked.

I was thinking - he meant to say loses 7500 per year.

Just look at how many posters have been her less than 4 years - where are the thousand of posters from 2000, 2001, and 2002 - that's right - in the graveyard.

Why? No matter how much evidence of predatory pricing I provided, you would simply say that it was because of poor management that said stores went out of business, not because of predatory pricing. No matter how many articles I found supporting my position, you would counter with the claim that they were part of the "liberal media" and had a leftist agenda. You know it and I know it. That is why I said I am done with you. No matter how much evidence I provided, you would brush it off and dismiss it. That's why I'm not going to waste the time providing evidence. You're not going to change my mind and I'm not going to change your mind, so why argue about it? That is why I stay out of the Political forum. We simply have to agree to disagree. Now I really am done. Feel free to respond, but don't expect a response, because you won't get one.

Idaho doesn't have a ton of white trash in the city so I'm covered. I don't like Walmart but if I'm on a budget I'll go there and grab a few things.
