HN, What Pitino is referring to, and what I've noted in the past, and mactar provided support for in this thread, are players that will be drafted in this year's NBA draft. Of course, you can make exceptions, like NC's Hansbrough who elected to return to NC instead of entering last year's draft.

uconn has some nice nba pieces, but I don't think they'll win it all. They had a pretty good chance with Dyson.

Winning the national title really helps guys make the NBA. If you win the title everyone wants your 4th and 5th best players in the 2nd round.

UCONN
(with Dyson they would have sailed to the final 4, without, they have some work to do to beat Memphis.)

i used the same mindset with the final 4 last year, picking Kansas. and i used the all star method for the finals, and selected pierce for mvp as well.

i'll post the ncaa teams with nba talent in a bit.

I realize I'm going the opposite here, but UW was ranked #10 at the end of the season and they probably don't have any NBA players. Brockman would be the closest but he's going to be labeled a 'tweener,' so I doubt he gets drafted. In fact, he was just on a local radio station the other day and he said he isn't expecting to play hoops after this year at all. He wants to start his own contracting business after graduating.

Anyway, this is a big part of the reason I don't think UW will go as deep as some people this year. That, and their guards make some idiotic decisions with the ball.

lol. You still haven't realized uconn isn't good.

By not very good, you mean 8 victories over ranked teams this season, including a blow out win over the overall #1 seed Louisville, the eighth best RPI in the nation, 27-4 in the nation with a brutal schedule.

You don't watch much Big East basketball, do you?

Uconn without Dyson can't and won't get it done. Luckily for them they have the easiest of the regions

If they get by Memphis, that means a trip to the final 4, where anything could happen.
UCONN will crush Chattanooga, beat BYU and Purdue.
The Washington game, (if all goes accordingly) might be tough.

You said that same line when I told you Pitt would beat your Huskies. You just have no clue and are a typical homer.

Brutal schedule? They lost to Pitt twice and beat Louisville. What quality wins do they have?

Big part of that Pitt loss was due to the fact that ND mugged them in the previous game.

I think Pitt is the best team in the East, and that includes Louisville, and yes, I follow my team hard, but to say UCONN is not very good, is just ignorant.

These teams were ranked at the time.
UCONN beat
#17 Miami
#25 Wisconsin
#8 Gonzaga
#25 West Virgina
#20 Villanova
#19 Notre Dame
#7 Louisville
#23 Syracuse

All those teams are going dancing, and throw in Michigan, that's nine tourney teams they beat.
