I dont know about Downtown, but I can tell you that Gold Coast is 4$ a night the week before the bash

I just did a search on Expedia for Tuesday through Thursday before the Bash. The following prices/hotels came up:

$9, Gold Spike
$13, Golden Gate
$16, Terrible's
$17, Binion's
$18, Plaza
$18, Vegas Club
$20, Sahara

Easy. The place is a dump and they could care less about spending money to improve it.

You probably won't even get maid service for starters.

Stay home. If you have to ask the price, you can't afford it. $9 a friggen nite? A tent @ a camp site costs more, and you don't have to share it w/the roaches.@)

How much extra does the Gold Spike charge for tetanus shots and other needed vaccinations?

They may say they've renovated, but that's a little like saying the rooms are now nicer than a North Vietnamese POW camp. I absolutely love the Gold Spike diner -- even though I try not to think about things like health inspections when I eat there -- but you could never get me to sleep there.
