I agree Flamingo is a great location. I did'nt see the sports book, but pool area is nice. I think you can see it on line. Hey screw it stay at Wynn and win lots $$$$$ so it won't matter. Also you can get comps for the RFB,if you play in the casino. So may great resturants to eat at.If you are looking for places to hang out HR,Palms. The turn off at MGM was there were so many AIDS---Crackhead looking hookers. They would harrass you walking through the casino. I actually had to tell the security guy to get rid of them. Whats Vegas without hookers?

Flamingo has been my "go-to" spot for my last 10-12 trips. Get a go room though.

The deals are there.

I heard bad stuff about the Flamingo but it does have a good location. I stayed at Ceasars last year and ate across the street at the Harrahs ( subway) and the Chipolte there too because that saved a shit load of money.

I like that location, the Mirage and TI are close and quite cheap. The Paris is alright, but do you think the Mirage is better than the Paris?

Who do you think has the better pool and crowd?

MGM is huge and it felt like being on a subway for me. Long long halls, dark, but the rooms seemed decorated alright.

Not sure how cheap the Mirage got ( Never pay there ) But as far as Pools
The Mirage & Flamingo has the Best !

I heard the Flamingo sucks and it didn't look that great to me.

I booked TI and last time I didn't even really consider that place but it was fucking cheap as shit and doesn't look that bad. Other people confirmed what I thought and said it is a great value ( it's a lot cheaper than the others). I know there are cheap eats around there too and I could just use the few hundred dollars I saved to blow at the night clubs and sportsbook.

I know I will be going to Vegas many times in my day and I want to eventually stay in pretty much all the different hotels except the Tropicana, Sahara, Stratosphere and all those.

Well, I only stay at two places when I'm there ( make 3 with the Nugget )

But I just went to this site, and the Flamingo doesn't look bad.

I did Treasure Island. I never would have thought of going there but some poster told me it was good value and it looked like it. We'll see.

Next time I'll be rich and stay at the Bellagio and drop mad loot.

Unless I go back for the super bowl or something and just stay somewhere cheap.

Hey two more questions.

1) Is there anywhere the NFL futures are centrally listed so that I can shop for the best price.

2) Do I have to be in vegas to redeem my winning ticket and physically go to that sports book or do I have to mail it in or anything?

I am not sure what the regular guest rooms at the Flamingo are like, the "Go two room suites" are extremely nice though. I have stayed there 4-5 times a year for the last 3-4 years. I find the hosts at the Flamingo very accomidating.

I used to give the Golden Nugget all of my action. It seems like when ownership changed hands a few years back the hosts went to shit. Thats why I changed.

The Sahara is a good hotel, I wouldn't rule it out. It's a little too far on the north end, but the crowd that stays there has a lot of fun people.

The Strat has an unfortunate location, but it should really be visited at least once. Go at night and head up to the observation deck. The view is great.

Generally you can mail in a winning ticket. The book may require you to use certified mail, but that's no big deal.

Of course, if you win you now have another excuse for a Vegas trip.

Whats the deal with the golden nugget anyway? Off strip, cheap place? Isn't that where the RX year end party is?

Don't get me wrong, I went up the Strat tower, it was nice, but the hotel looked run down and the Sahara looked like a bug infested 1950's shit house. That end of the strip had some real winners walking around there too. Looks like a great place to get jumped.

I did that test website and they pretty much said what I was looking for. I stayed Casesars last time ( did they change their room key because I'd go back to PURE), the mirage too. Maybe next time I do HRH or Mandalay or do the Bellagio/Wynn if I get a good deal.

I swear I looked at the deals like 1 month ago when Jet fuels was cheaper but all the prices started going back up and I like to buy low/sell high.

The Golden Nugget is as close to a classy Strip hotel as you'll find Downtown. It's more old-school elegant than the flashy new stuff they're packing the Strip with these days.

The Strip is for people who want the whole Vegas experience; Downtown is for gamblers. I love Downtown.

Let me know when you're looking to make your trip and when you're looking to book it. I run that site, FirstTimeLasVegas.com, and sometime I get special deals sent my way that are good only for a short time. I'll let you know if anything comes across that would apply to you.
