There's absolutely zero reason for him to do that. He would be taking a bet he'd assuredly lose. You, on the other hand, have the opportunity to take a +EV bet even if the sample size is smaller than you'd like or prefer. The two aren't similar.

Of course the sample size matters.....a donkey can win a quick short contest. But he can't beat me over longer period. It's similar to poker, any idiot can get lucky for a few nights....but the better player will win over the long term.
