Excellent bluffer...plays rags great.

Complete donkey when he has a good hand.

Big reason why the WSOP has grown like this.

The guy wouldn't be nothing if he didn't have a catchy name

I remember reading in this forum a few years ago that rumor was that he had pretty much had lost his wsop winnings. Never see him doing really well in any of these tournaments. I believe Fossilman and Hachem have proven themselves where as Moneymaker was a one hit wonder.

he is BY far the LUCKIEST MF'er in the poker world...he won the title in the WSOP by PURE LUCK ONLY as he has not won much since...I read he was broke at one time from losing I think I read that on this site posted by someone

he hit a TON of rivers when he was behind in the wsop ...

The point is Moneymaker has gotten way to much press that he doesn't even deserve. If anything Raymer should be getting all the attention for winning then coming back and getting 25th the next year with a huge field and everyone gunning to knock you out; now there's skill!

He's no better than any of us. He got lucky. Good for him though, he's set. He is no where near the league of the poker greats like Chan, Brunson etc etc

He did more for the popularity of poker, than any previous champion.

:pointer: Wow......Did someone forget to take their Ritalin today?:puppy:

Of course luck played a role in it-as it ALWAYS does, but you have to do a damn lot of things right to pull off what he did.

Moneymaker is a good player. He plays a competant, solid game and he's a consistent winner in small-medium stakes ($5-$10 NL) on Pokerstars. He's also a complete gentleman at the tables no matter how vicious the railbirds get. As far as the rest of it goes...

God bless Chris Moneymaker. His victory revolutionized poker.

I certainly prefer him as an ambassador over Jamie Gold. I wonder how happy Calvin Ayre is about signing Gold. At least Moneymaker didn't stiff Johnny Chan for $1.2m or end up in court because $5.4m isn't enough to get by on.

He played well in 2003. The bluff to Farha was the best bluff in the history of the game. I would rather play him than any other popular poker player though.
