They do say the serenity prayer in AA but not everybody in those rooms is weak as a matter of fact the strong belief in a higher power helps turn many lives around for the better. Just because you dont like something doesnt mean it isnt good or do good things which brings us back on topic, you dont like Trump tough shit deal with it !
There are posters here who relish in the thought of our potus failing and would sacrifice the well being of the US to feel like they were right. That is the un- American part of it. I actually didn't post the prayer for religious purposes. I'm really not a very religious person myself, but respect people that are. It was really more from a practicality standpoint. To spin your wheels on things that you have no control over, in my opinion, is just a waste of time. The election has been over since November. All the whining in the world is not going to change anything.

I fully understand the serenity prayer as it relates to AA and GA. "The "weakness" is the addiction. Step One to recovery is admitting powerlessness over addiction and turning to a higher power. Not necessarily God, but probably a belief in God helps in getting on the path to recovery.

I think Dave hit a nerve with me because my gf questions myfaith all the time. I certainly am never going to pound a drum for religion!
