The Department of Justice (DOJ) pushed back against the release of audio recordings of President Biden’s interview with special counsel Robert Hur, citing concerns that “deep fakes” could emerge.

DOJ argued, in a Friday night filing, that if the audio were released, it could end up being altered and passed off as an “authentic” recording which would be shared widely.

“The passage of time and advancements in audio, artificial intelligence, and ‘deep fake’ technologies only amplify concerns about malicious manipulation of audio files,” according to the filing, first obtained by Politico.

Attorney General Merrick Garland has classified at the highest level the audio tapes of Biden's embarrassingly incoherent interview with Special Counsel Hur over two days, and has locked the tapes away in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility, or SCIF.

Not true . We have concerns over deep fakes says twerp Garland .

I have spent a good bit of time talking to Kevin McCarthy through the years and hours with Biden in 2024. There is no comparison. Biden is far sharper, more intellectually curious, and far more insightful on global affairs than any House GOP speaker I have met over 30 years.

President Joe Biden’s interview with Time Magazine was full of slip-ups and gaffes, feeding into concerns about the 81-year-old’s fitness for office ahead of the 2024 election.

Time Washington Bureau Chief Massimo Calabresi and Editor-in-Chief Sam Jacobs conducted an interview with Biden and released the transcript Tuesday, as well as a fact-check on some of the president’s statements. Throughout the interview, the president attempted to quell concerns about his age, but not before he forgot the timeline of calls, where key officials were and other various facts.

Democrat lawmakers are furious with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., for signing off on inviting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address Congress.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., announced Friday that Netanyahu was invited to speak before a joint meeting of Congress, though the date has not been set.

Netanyahu accepted the invitation, Reuters reported.

Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., told Axios a boycott "will be large" and that there are "a lot of people who are extremely upset he [Netanyahu] is coming here."

Axios added that one House Democrat told Axios that a lot of members will "wait up until the very end to decide" whether they will attend the speech, calling it a "very fluid, unpredictable situation."

Biden claims he’s ‘known’ Russia’s Vladimir Putin ‘for over 40 years’ — even when he was undercover KGB agent

Putin worked as an intelligence officer in the Soviet Union’s spy network from 1975 to 1991, with postings in his hometown of St. Petersburg and the former East Germany before he retired with the rank of lieutenant colonel — making it highly unlikely Biden was aware of the future US adversary’s existence as early as he claimed.
