Good? You picked them to win the NBA Finals next season over the Nets. Good teams don't win Championships. Great teams do.

Good teams win championships if the three best teams in the league all suffer serious injuries to top players (see Milwaukee)

Lakers are great

You should ask the mods for another name change. Go with Mr. Excuse or Mr. Asterisk. Since it seems there's always an excuse or an explanation for things not falling the way you thought/think they would.

Or be like Prince and just go with a symbol. * would be awesome.

Lol

You called the Lakers championship an "*" championship (even though they were clearly the best team in the regular season, and lost the benefit of the home court advantage that they earned, but Ok)

yet you turn a blind eye to the injuries this year.

Just like what was predicted...they picked up a lot of old guys where the choices were either take a pay cut or you're out of the league. Carmelo should have quit years ago, who knew Wayne Ellington was still in the league at all? Bazemore for Morris is a tremendous downgrade, Ariza can never decide if he even wants to play. Monk and Nunn could be players, but neither is better offensively than Schroder or defensively as Curuso. I don't think other teams in the west are too worried. Seems like they picked up a lot of guys who can miss a three-point shot and avoid getting rebounds.

Melo should be out of the league? He shot 41% from 3 last year and averaged double figures.

A few of these players opted to take less money than they could’ve made in order to go to LA. Monk and Nunn are great examples, and guys who can hit 3s

Schroeder was a disaster in the playoffs, and Caruso is way too limited on offense.

As a Suns fan, I love seeing Carmelo on the Lakers. He can take over Morris' minutes...a tough guy who played defense versus Melo who will hang around the three point line, pick off a couple rebounds and will be the target of every pick and roll team. Like I said, Monk and/or Nunn could mature into good players and each will have their moments...think Kyle Kuzma unless that makes your stomach turn. They probably did the best they could pulling some bodies together to fill out the roster. If the big three are healthy going into the playoffs, they will be competitive, but at playoff time, all they will have is the big three and eventually they will run out of gas.

The Lakers will still have a pretty great defensive team. They need capable shooters off the bench.

Mono and Nunn are great pick ups. Taking less to go play with Lebron and get a ring was a good move on their parts:

Not sure why you’d think they’d run out of gas. One of the benefits of bringing a guy like Westbrook in is that Lebron can rest more, since Westbrook can do similar things and run the point effectively.

Only hindrance is health. If they are healthy, they are pretty clearly the best team in the west
