Normally if I'm going to play a large road favorite they need to have two things: a solid defense that will play hard 4 quarters, and a good running game that will burn the clock and keep scoring points late in the game while doing it.

Cal has neither of those.

Uw @ ORE
Wow Conan, a 3x. I don't remember that before. I agree that Ore is a mess, lots of injuries, head coach is in a tailspin, qb has got to be losing his team... but this is still a team that outplayed neb on the road and this line during the preseason was ORE -2. That is quite a line move although probably legitimate.
Usually I would be looking at fading the team (UW) that crushed their opponent and shinned on national tv especially when playing a team that has lost three in a row all of which were on tv and being talked about in the media.
This is a tough one because I do see Uw covering but I don't make it a practice playing spots like this. If I can get -8 I may play a little, its hard to pass on a conan 3x.

Cal @ ORE ST
Another pass, Cal doesn't win much less cover this spot very often. They surely are capable, just another good line in my opinion.

Col @ USC
Wow you have been dead on with Col every week... Usc has me perplexed, them seem to have righted the ship? not sure about sc. Pass.

Was st @ FURD -7
This is the one I like. Stanford coming home with their tail between their legs. Embarrassed and ready to redeem in front of the home crowd. Good value vs Was St winning impressively vs Ore last week. I like Stanford's red zone advantages on both sides of the ball. I was very disappointed when the BOL # opened at 12, but patience pays off folks. BOL is now -7 -110. Grab it, get it while its hot.

3 things I have to say about this.

1. Oregon State's offense is woefully anemic.

2. Their defense is also pretty bad. Other than vs Idaho the Beavers have allowed
36 PPG. Now they face arguably the most high powered offense they will see all
season.

2. Cal's defense has played very much more spirited football lately. Did you see the
goal line stand put on by Cal's defense that won the game vs Utah? Something like
that can be a huge confidence builder. The Utes had 7 tries to punch it into the end
zone from within the 5 yard line. Nada.

Of course a letdown is possible which is why the games have to be played.

Conan, always love your insight. I'm leaning to Washington as well but I'm kind of worried letting down with a young team after National TV and first time beating Stanford after so many years ( 12 years or so ???). Any idea how Petersen handles this ? Thanks.

Arizona always played tough against Utah. Utah lost to Zona last 4 years. Can it be changed this year? Last week, Utah outgained California yards (442 vs 362) and time (42 minutes vs 18 minutes). Any idea anyone?

First off, I don't see UDub having a letdown with Oregon on deck, not with 12 consecutive losses to avenge.
This game is as important to both schools as the annual Red River rivalry is between Oklahoma and Texas.
The Dawgs might consider the Stanford win as a signature win for the program but beating Oregon is bigger.
Maybe they should rename this annual game the Columbia River feud.

Zona may have owned the Utes in the recent past, but it looks like Utah has found itself a quarterback and
they have been tough at home. The Wildcats did surprisingly well against Washington when they were at
home but Rice-Eccles Stadium is where teams often go to die. However giving 9 or 10 points knocks the
starch out of it.

That is a funny question, how ironic. LOL

Sure I'm for it. Why have they not been grooming a young QB all along? Prukop
turns out to be mediocre. I like Herbert. He's a tough kid. It's too bad that his OL
consists of 4 RS freshmen.

Go Ducks (??)

Don't have a good feeling this week with my Devils.

Brady White looked like shit when he replaced Wilkins last week. And it appears he will get the start.

I never bet against ASU. But I'd advise all of you to go make some money. :103631605

That was Idaho State, the much weaker version of the Idaho teams. Idaho St. is a doormat in the Big Sky. I keep staring at that Cal game, and wanting to make $ off this really dreadful Beaver team, but is this the week they finally play a decent game? Probably not, but they did cover last year vs. Oregon and Utah. I keep thinking they HAVE to be better than last year, but maybe not..Without Bolden, I don't know if they'd have any threats offensively.
