I didn't see anyone talking about USC or UCLA. For Ariz, it's first game on the road. Last week, Washington is young team, first time in the hostile environment. Don't think Ariz is that good. My only concern is the UCLA emotion last game and how much left in the tank.

I definitely like USC and UCLA both this week but I'm a bit hesitant laying all that wood in both games.

USC now seems to have found out that they really do have some talent on their OL. Well yippee. I also
like how Sam Darnold is handing his job as their QB. I heard that Max Browne is all vexed over Helton's
decision to use Darnold as their starter. He wants to transfer out. He'll either have to wait a year before he
is allowed to play or he can go FCS and start right away. How 'bout that freshman Darnold? He looked pretty
good in the Utah game last week. ASU usually treats the Trojans pretty bad and 10 points could be asking
too much from Helton's gang. i dunno, maybe. If their OL can keep it up, they should be able to cover. But
do I trust an OL that has actually showed up to play for only one week? Was that an aberration? In any event there could be a mess of points scored here.

UCLA of course doesn't need to prove anything at the QB position and they looked pretty sharp vs the trees
last week right up to the 4th quarter when Stanford started looking like their normal dominating selves and
took the game away from the Bruins. I think they will deal Zona a solid loss. Maybe lay 2 TD's to cover? Yowie,
that seems like a lot. With a number like that I'm inclined to look at the other side.

Royce Freeman has one major ability going for himself that the rest of Oregon's running backs
don't have which is easily forgotten. He punishes would be tacklers. I've watched how later in
games most opponent's defenders become notably less aggressive about taking him on at the
second level and beyond. Often he is driving them backwards as the play ends. As a Duckfan,
I am very glad to see his return to their starting offense. He's an inspiration to the team. At tne
time when he was injured, he was the leading rusher in the P5 conferences.

There are times such as this Saturday when it's all business to the Ducks. There is no time for
any ego trips or fanfare here because it's revenge time and they are also determined to bounce
back from an embarrassing loss to Colorado at home. It's an Oregon thing to perform when it's
long overdue and the public's respect is at an all time low. They get fed up with losing and that's
when it comes down to taking care of business -- nothing else but that. They will come out very
determined. Times like this is when they outplay their opponents, no matter who it is. The
only possible danger here is dumbass penalties by a talented but very young offensive line.

Oregon -1½/WSU

Your write up makes perfect sense. However, Wazzu has toppled the spread by 37-points in the last two meetings vs. Da' Quackers, including an outright upset. This time the word upset will not be used. Lots of luck and Happy Wagering! I really luv Mike Leach's Coogs. I got the Coogs on the ML.

Well I have to tell you that I'm not quite sold on the Coogs exactly.
They are not the team that beat Oregon last year or the team that
played the Ducks and covered the year before. So far this season,
teams with good offenses have clobbered them . The Duck offense
is VERY good.

IMHO their defense is in the dumpster. They were scored upon easily
by EWU and Boise but gave up just 6 points to Idaho. My grandmother
could hold the Vandals to a field goal by herself. The thing is, I am very
unimpressed by the Coogs defense.

Coming off to a home loss to Colorado, a stupid thing for the Ducks to do,
I hope everyone on the team had a reality check over the past week. They
seem slightly anemic with respect to their scoring output. Their play of late
hasn't been up to standards for them. They pulled the same sh*t when WSU
beat them at Autzen last year, the Utes too. I noticed that quack said that he
has been having second thoughts about their head coach. He just doesn't set
himself apart with something different about him like Chip Kelly. That usually
makes for a hohum team sooner or later. Just a theory but maybe its right.

All that being said, their real team leader will suit-up and play Saturday after
a 2-week injury layover. I am sure Royce Freeman will come suited up ready
to bash people and hurt them. He will also light up their passing attack from
all the attention he will get. I know how good Oregon's offense can be and if
the Ducks show up with the intention of taking care of business they will go
home with a win. Luke Falk will be pushing the Ducks almost all day long.
WSU's defense is very charitable.

Oregon's offense is an "embarrassment of riches." And I'm happy that Royce
Freeman will play. He's an example for all the young players because he hits
the other guys in the mouth. It's time for the Ducks to wake up. That's who
they be.

I view this game as largely determining your handicapping ability, given your very strong statements.
Yeah, right...because a good or bad read on a single upcoming game certainly speaks volumes about someones handicapping ability face)(*^%
Conan, me, you and everybody else has been right and wrong about how games play out in the past and will be right and wrong on many other games yet to come. Just because you have a strong opinion about a game and how it is going to unfold, it doesn't necessarily have to pan out that way even though you generally do a good job of projecting future outcomes, just too many variables playing into the outcome of a certain game and you never get all the information beforehand, no matter how hard you try.
No matter if Conans "projection" turns out to be spot on or 100% wrong, for years he has and up to date he keeps providing good info and his own point of view on west coast games/teams, one example being his posts about Colorado early in the season.

Come on Guys, Conan has been posting here in the Rx for a long time and when he handicaps college football, especially involving teams located West of the Rockies (i.e. the West Coast), he has been very successful in picking a helluva lot more winners than losers. That's what it's all about, right guys? We all appreciate insight and information that pertains to a specific game or team and sometimes others may offer different points-of-view/slants.......This is good in the discussions but, it all boils-down to the bottom line.....more winners than losers.

FYI: Conan has allowed this "old man", who has been following college football in real-time for 70 years, to indulge in a few "goodies" as a result of his "winning ways". I even enjoy his avatars and a few other U of O "delights" that he usual displays once or twice a year.......Now you really know why I follow Conan's posts.........ha. Good luck this week-end.

Rickrock...
I know the Duck defense leaves plenty to desire. I just don't want to write a book about them in a single post. To be more exact about the WSU game, like I was saying the Duck defense has it's problems but WSU has it worse. Perhaps the strongest part of Oregon's defense is their DBs. I can't say as much for the Coogs.

ASU @ USC -10
So Vegas is telling me that a 4-0 team is a DD dog to a team that is 1-3 that is struggling. Smells fishy to me. Believe me, I love my Devils being a proud alum and former player. But CAL had ASU dead to right last week in Tempe before Webb threw 2 picks in the final 3 mins, one a "pick 6" and the other gave ASU first and goal from the 5yd line. Cal was so dominant on offense against ASU that the DID NOT PUNT in the game. The porous ASU pass defense was ripped to shreds. What will SC do with JuJu Smith and Co, and a much more effective run game that gouged a stout Utes defense for 220 rush yards. ASU will put up some points and it will be competitive early because of the ASU offense. But The ASU defense relies on blitzing, and Cal beat it with protection and quick throws. Expect SC to do the same and move the pocket with a very mobile QB Darnold. I know ASU has played well of late in Cali, but I get the feeling this one gets away late and SC rolls ASU.
And this game goes way, way OVER the total, as most of their games do.

WSU -1.5
What if I told you that Wazzu has covered the last 6 in this series against the Ducks. Granted, the shortest line was last year at 15', but still those were some very powerful Oregon teams that were not always firing on all cylinders against a very outmanned Coog team. The way the Ducks have played on defense, this looks like its going to be a very close game. But Wazzu is coming off a week of rest, they've been pretty good in October of late, and this just feels like last year when Wazzu got Oregon in Eugene while the Ducks were sputtering on offense. Give me the Coogs on the Paloose for the win.

Utah @ Cal -2
It took Utah until October to finally hit the road. With a first year QB this has disaster written all over it. Cal will be waiting on them, it's a revenge spot for them and i think they'll be able to protect Webb enough for him to make some plays. The Utah DL is a bit gimpy this week, and SC was able to throw the ball and protect Darnold last week, I see the same for Webb. The hurry up offense will bother Utah.

My .02 cents

For anyone that wants to know, this is my post
about the Buffs that Soriano was referring to.

I've been on them since early in August or before.
If you saw what I saw you might have said something
similar. What I said was that I believed that Colorado
will be the most improved team in the Pac. Now It
looks like I nailed that one.

Conan's reputation is clearly and squarely on the line with his pick of Oregon over WSU. If he is right, I will bow down. If he is wrong, then it could be apparent he is watching too much porn or wherever he goes for his booby-sized pictures.

You have to be kidding with this clown type shit. Go some where else to promote ur cheap ass website and after that jump off a bridge.

I'm not here to see anyone bow down to me, especially trolls and drama queens with a mile-wide ego problem.

How obvious he is to post in my threads to attract attention to his own website. How obvious is his ploy to create
the fantasy that if he wins a single game and that if I lose, it makes him worthy and me unworthy. He has no
reputation of his own to stand on so he thinks he can stand on mine with a single game result.

He wold like to somehow steal my popularity to the tune of 20-30,000 hits per week. I've earned that the hard way
by posing consistent winners most years in the 61-69% range.

Here is a post from a few years back. I could post a half dozen years like this but if I can find them you can search
back and spend the time finding them too. That wasn't even my best year.

I'll be a sport about it... click here and click here and click here There are many more years like those. My best year
here was when I narrowly missed hitting 70% by a single pick.

I should say also that recently I've been living in hospitals and nursing homes after open heart surgery about 3 years
ago. That definitely has thrown a monkey wrench into my study habits, but the good news is that my physical condition
is better than it's been in a long time.

How uncouth to troll around other people's forums just to advertise himself and contribute very little as a peer. How
many others here do that? Neither me nor anyone else at the Rx needs to hear from an ego-tripping weasel who's
nothing more than a collegefootballoddity.

hey ass-clown, you are nothing more than a pathetic attention seeking whore with little regard for proper protocol and etiquette. if it wasnt for "low class" you would have no class at all so please find another forum to continue your trolling and advertising your irrelevant "odessy" site. please let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Conan....with the best game going on tonight in the PAC, do you have any thoughts on the total sitting around 44/45? Washington scoring 35 or more in each game while Stanford scoring 27 or less in their 3 games.

I feel that Conan has provided a Great Thread over the years as his insight on the West Coast teams have been Eye opening.
His also allows other posters to chime in with thoughts and angles.

every once in a while comes along someone that thinks they know better, but doesn't know how to express it without sounding condescending.

Plus posting an URL to maybe his own site, which is not allowed here at The RX

So I ask for it to stop, and if you feel that you disagree with something, Start your own thread.

Thank you
