Line just shot up to Buffs -20, seems like a lot to lay on a big sandwich spot between Oregon & USC

Not only did Colorado cover the DD spread (20) they even doubled down on it.
How about them Buffs? I don't remember if I posted that I went from a maybe to
making Colorado an automatic pick every week this season. This is just to let you
know that I did so when they played and beat Oregon. Not taking any credit for it
in the record because I forgot to post it. Now you know they are on automatic.
They are better than you think sendacash. They are better than almost everyone
thinks. They are even better than I think.

It would not surprise me if USC was actually looking ahead at the Buffs next week.
They should be.

I tell you what, they are a lot better than my power rating have them no doubt. Think I might just have to true up my number to whatever this line closed at and move on.

I have a question for you Conan, keep hearing chatter that there are head coaches in the Pac-12 that don't care much for Rich Rod down in Arizona. Do you put any credence into those rumors?

I haven't heard about that sendacash.

Personally I think his ceiling is somewhere around being an OC.
Otherwise, I am not so impressed.

PS
How about a CCG with Colorado vs. UDub?
Nah, it couldn't happen, could it? Utah and
perhaps CAL (did I just say CAL?) have a shot.

Manny Wilkins, ASU's QB has come to rescue the Devils from a so-so season.
He's the big difference and the reason why ASU is 4-0 thus far this year.
I am not entirely sold on USC's OL in spite of the fact that they seemed to
break through to a point last week. All in all not enough to justify a 9-point
spread. As a matter of fact, I don't put this game beyond the possibility of
a straight up win for the Sun Devils.

I can't really predict a winner here, slight lean towards USC, but only slight.
Add 9 points to that and it's ASU all the way.

ASU +9/USC

Ive never posted in your threads but I've been lurking , and winning on your plays. Much respect :toast:

im a SC guy . I'll be the 1st to say this is not our season . I'd say they are in the bottom half of the pac.
when I 1st glanced at this line I was blown away. Why would the books make SC such a heavy fav? They shouldn't be laying a TD+ to any pac10 school right now. Then I sat back and began to hear the chatter around town here in in DTLA. ASU is everyones sexy dog pick this week. Now yes from a statistical stand point it makes sense.
But wait. Vegas could have made this spread SC -3 and got the same amount of ASU love.
All im saying is this is a very strange and fishy line.

ill be rooting for my Trojans by 3 and everyone cashes.

Best if luck

Could the Pac-12 South be decided on a November 3rd Thursday night in of all places Boulder? Stay tuned, another big hurdle presents itself next week with traditional Pac-12 bully USC. The thought of defeating both Oregon and USC in the same season, on the road seemed unfathomable at the beginning of the year.

It even seems you are right at this point. Just the same the Buffs for me are on autopilot to bet on.
If they don't make to at least 8-4 ATS on the season I'll eat a 5-alarm Jalapeño. 9-3 or even 10-2
ATS wouldn't be the first time I've seen it with a fairly new coach like Mike MacIntyre. There's no
doubt in my mind that he's the reason for all this.

I'm sure it was his call to bring Jim Leavitt in as DC, taking a chance when others would not and it appears to have paid off in a conference mostly devoid of defensive expertise.

Pretty much true

My top 3 DC's in the conference are:

Lance Anderson (Stanford)
Pete Kwiatkowski (Washington)
Morgan Scalley (first year at Utah and I'm already impressed with him)

I should also add that Brady Hoke has been a big disappointment so far.

That's interesting. The best head coaches surround themselves with the best assistants.
Their defense is pretty solid. Don't forget that Colorado is pretty well balanced the way
Washington is all over the field.

With all due respect, i have never heard of any of those guys. Leavitt was a head coach at South Fla before he ran into issues, he is old school. What are your thoughts on Oregon making the call to Scott Frost?

You've heard of them now.

I wish they had gone for Scott Frost instead of Mark Helfrich. He had a
lot more to do with Oregon's offense than Helfrich. Called all the plays etc.

Rich Rod is 32-60 ATS on whatever sideline he pollutes since 2008, including 2-8 ATS in Bowl games. He Blows.

Hope you feel better Conan.

ASU @ USC -10
So Vegas is telling me that a 4-0 team is a DD dog to a team that is 1-3 that is struggling. Smells fishy to me. Believe me, I love my Devils being a proud alum and former player. But CAL had ASU dead to right last week in Tempe before Webb threw 2 picks in the final 3 mins, one a "pick 6" and the other gave ASU first and goal from the 5yd line. Cal was so dominant on offense against ASU that the DID NOT PUNT in the game. The porous ASU pass defense was ripped to shreds. What will SC do with JuJu Smith and Co, and a much more effective run game that gouged a stout Utes defense for 220 rush yards. ASU will put up some points and it will be competitive early because of the ASU offense. But The ASU defense relies on blitzing, and Cal beat it with protection and quick throws. Expect SC to do the same and move the pocket with a very mobile QB Darnold. I know ASU has played well of late in Cali, but I get the feeling this one gets away late and SC rolls ASU.
And this game goes way, way OVER the total, as most of their games do.

WSU -1.5
What if I told you that Wazzu has covered the last 6 in this series against the Ducks. Granted, the shortest line was last year at 15', but still those were some very powerful Oregon teams that were not always firing on all cylinders against a very outmanned Coog team. The way the Ducks have played on defense, this looks like its going to be a very close game. But Wazzu is coming off a week of rest, they've been pretty good in October of late, and this just feels like last year when Wazzu got Oregon in Eugene while the Ducks were sputtering on offense. Give me the Coogs on the Paloose for the win.

Utah @ Cal -2
It took Utah until October to finally hit the road. With a first year QB this has disaster written all over it. Cal will be waiting on them, it's a revenge spot for them and i think they'll be able to protect Webb enough for him to make some plays. The Utah DL is a bit gimpy this week, and SC was able to throw the ball and protect Darnold last week, I see the same for Webb. The hurry up offense will bother Utah.

My .02 cents
I hope some of you listened and put some lunch money on USC. As I stated, this line looked really, really fishy. A 1-3 team laying DD's to a 4-0 team. But when you looking inside the numbers, SC lost at the gun on the road to a pretty good Utah team, and was beat by two better teams (Bama & Trees). ASU has the worst pass defense, and one of the worst defenses of any P5 team. They were fortunate that Cal QB Webb gave them 2 picks and an easy 10 points last week, and they still needed a onsides kick return to get the cover. Still a lot of time to go, but SC up 41-6. It's gambling and Vegas puts these lines out for a reason.

Royce Freeman has one major ability going for himself that the rest of Oregon's running backs
don't have which is easily forgotten. He punishes would be tacklers. I've watched how later in
games most opponent's defenders become notably less aggressive about taking him on at the
second level and beyond. Often he is driving them backwards as the play ends. As a Duckfan,
I am very glad to see his return to their starting offense. He's an inspiration to the team. At tne
time when he was injured, he was the leading rusher in the P5 conferences.

There are times such as this Saturday when it's all business to the Ducks. There is no time for
any ego trips or fanfare here because it's revenge time and they are also determined to bounce
back from an embarrassing loss to Colorado at home. It's an Oregon thing to perform when it's
long overdue and the public's respect is at an all time low. They get fed up with losing and that's
when it comes down to taking care of business -- nothing else but that. They will come out very
determined. Times like this is when they outplay their opponents, no matter who it is. The
only possible danger here is dumbass penalties by a talented but very young offensive line.

Oregon -1½/WSU
