Conan, I apologize if you have already talked about this but I have not read the entire thread... How is RB Johnson doing? Is he going to play and be close to or 100% ?

JJ has a sore shoulder but he's been OK at practice and will play on Saturday. If he needs to sit down, Blount will step in. He's already put up over 100 yds. in one game. He's a very punishing type of RB.

Arizona-10/NM* (5 dimes)

I'm adding it to the list in light of new information Ducks just posted. I like the Cats anyway and in a revenge spot that I think counts too. Their last outing vs. Toledo where they managed only 41 points looks more like a speed bump than an indication of what to expect. They should score at least in the high 40's if not more. I also like the way their defense has been playing up to now.

I like the Oregon play. After what I saw last season, the road east doesn't seem to bother the Ducks. They won't be sneaking up on anybody this time. But I think they come out of there with a solid 10-14 point win.

Pags, I think there will be times when the Duck offense will have to keep their opponent's offense off the field... they should score most of the time but if not, their defense may need to do some of the talking. Painter is a challenge for sure. But I don't think Purdue lines up vs the Ducks too well. Not many teams will. I hope Chris finishes up his career and makes himself a lot of money on Sundays. Drew Brees thinks so. He will probably do that despite never getting a defining win in his entire college career.

BOL

PS... UCLA beat TN but it was also a "perfect storm" that beat the vols. Craft on the road does not appeal to me. I was really just floating the idea. Hope you win that one.
"Perfect storm." I like that! LOL. UCLA, on the other hand, did not stop UTK's rushing attack. We stopped running, we stopped ourselves. We averaged over 6.0 YPC.

I like Purdue as well Conan. I'm not so sure that the Ducks have enough muster to handily (by 10) Purdue in their place.

BOL on the other ones my new Pac-10 friend! :toast:

Maryland, much like Tennessee, just needs to stick to the ground! LOL

Just a couple comments.

With Painter, well, he can get erratic. If he's on...Purdue can def. win by DD. I like Oregon and will stay away but would not be surprised at the upset esp. if they can't pressure Painter.

BYU...I don't care for them when a fave of more than a TD. 7.5/8 is just too tight a no. for me. I think pags is right though as if I were forced to pick, I would go with Mormon U.

I have questions w/ Craft. First game on the road and I am curious to see if he does another Jekyll/Hyde routine. UCLA run D looks fine...it's their pass covg. that I'm concerned over. Hall is only going to get better as a QB this season.

You know what CG, the more I think about Craft on the road the more I like BYU. It would take a real tall order from Walker's defense to keep it real in this game. That's possible because DeWayne Walker is... well, DeWanye Walker -- but Norm Chow would have to be a magician again to throw together some offense. That's also possible too I guess but it would blow my mind (for the 2nd time) to see it happen.

Got lucky and flipped my Cal -13** around and put ** on Maryland +15.5 @ Bodog this evening. That's probably the best I can get. So I guess I'm officially off the game unless I get real lucky and hit the middle it at 14 or 15. Would be nice.

Recap

Oregon-6.5 **
SJ St.-6 **
Baylor+2.5 *
USC-9 *
Az-10 *

Most of these lines were openers or close to it because I made most of my bets Sunday. Funny how the line services report different openers than the ones I saw Sunday and even bet Sunday. Wonder why? I still support each bet but anything with Oregon >7 is a single unit play.

No totals yet. Most of the books take their sweet time to get them up. I did find them posted at thegreek. I'm going to give the totals a good once over and report back if there's something that interests me.

I might want to give Fresno St.+1 a try. Thinking about it anyway. HC Pat Hill seems to have them on a roll and I remember seeing the Bulldogs with some pretty good play makers on both sides of the line @ Rutgers. But who is Rutgers anymore? Wisky's got some B-10 size but Fresno's got some big farm boys themselves. They jump on Wisconsin first and the HFA is going to count double.

Conan ..........can you confirm this......Just got it from a buddy on my other site .............lol ........thanks for all you do in this room with this conf...............

Not to be out-done by their hated cross-state rivals, Washington State made headlines of their own this week on the heels of the school's worst-ever gridiron loss.

After WSU’s 66-3 nail-biting loss to Cal, PAC-10 executives have decided enough is enough. In a statement never issued, officials announced they are dropping the Cougar football team from the PAC 10 after the latest on-field embarrassment. Rumors are swirling that Pullman High School will replace WSU in the PAC 10 and will play their home games at Martin Stadium, fulfilling contractual obligations and continuing the tradition of miserable road trips for PAC-10 foes. Pullman High is coming off a convincing 33-6 win over Ellensberg, known mostly for its Angus Beef cattle ranches and full-figured coeds.

WSU’s gridiron expulsion caught many by surprise. Former Cougar star quarterback Drew Bledsoe refused comment, but did manage to mumble “Shame about Brady, huh...?” He then drove away giggling, sticking pins in what appeared to be a crude, Tom Brady look-alike straw doll.

Unconfirmed reports claim much-maligned former WSU quarterback and short-lived San Diego Charger, Ryan Leaf, was even less forthcoming. When asked for comment he only managed to throw a wicked sneer our way. The sneer fell incomplete and immediately divided the locker room, hurting morale and frustrating the coaches.

Pullman players and coaches began boarding buses for the long drive to Waco where a thorough pummeling is expected to take place at the hands of the Baylor Bears. The game will be on FOX Sports. School officials are asking players and parents for gas money and lunchables for the long trip. An extra large supply of Band Aids and ice packs are also being requested.

WSU went into two-a-day practice mode in anticipation of Saturdays game against soon-to-be bitter rival Moscow High School. The game will be webcast compliments of Moscow Radio Shack employee, Marvin Huang.

Funny story seems 1/2 true.

Moscow Idaho happens to be where UI comes from, only 10 miles from Pullman, WA. I remember the pasting Idaho received from Arizona earlier. Wasn't that 63-3 too? Cumsi cumsa, Pullman or Moscow. There's no football to be found anywhere in the Palouse this year.

Two very nice lines right there Mr. Conan! I was able to hit a nice five unit play on Thursday night and was fortunate the Rutgers have prove to be terrible at home.

Speaking of UCLA; I think that Norm Chow can work magic with what he has at hand. I was wondering if the starting TE from the UTK game is any better and will he be available vs. BYU this weekend? This is the third game for UCLA vs. BYU and I am starting to lean on the Bruins. I was speaking to a buddy that often calls to see what I'm on and for me to see what he has but I told him I would bet UCLA in spite of the loss. Now, I'm not so sure Norm Chow has enough to work with Craft. I think that Craft is still a third string QB, but a college QB at a respected program to say the least. I believe after being booed and throwing four INTs against what is going to be a pretty good team and BOUNCING BACK hard might be enough for him to keep UCLA in this game. The defensive tackles looked unreal and that UTK offensive line is no joke. (I walked with Anthony Parker today and he is LARGE and mean) I wouldn't step on the Bruins toes just yet and mark her up as a loss. I'm interested to see if it goes up more.

Am I crazy for this? If so, talk me back down to earth here Conan.

Remember Kevin Craft threw 4 picks in the first half the last time you saw him play. He snapped out of it in the 2nd half and played for the SOLE reason that Neuheisel had NOBODY ELSE who knew the playbook!

Now here comes his FIRST EVER road game. C'mon, can you really trust the guy?

Hugest line move I've ever been on the right side of.
WSU opens -2.5 favorite, ends up 7 point dog.
Remarkable the way Baylor caught fire.
Must have cost the books a week's profit.

Oregon-6.5 **
SJ St.-6 **
Baylor+2.5 *
(W)
USC-9 *
Az-10 *

I may not be finished yet.

I was lucky to see it was canceled this morning, I did manage to rebet the line at -1 which was still like a SU winner call. The only thing I didn't change was the number when I c&p the games from one post to another. I don't remember the last time this was done at EVERY book.

I feel that pain. I was all over Baylor at +3 and the play was cancelled. decided to go against the big move and grab the points late today, ruined a good day!!

Bodog started at -1 ended up at 4.5. I saw 7 I think it was at BetJamaica but everyone else had them at 6.5. Bodog's a wierd book. You'd think they didn't want any action sometimes, other's it's as if someone's asleep at the wheel.
