Have you given any thought to the under 46 1/2 in the ASU/UCLA game? I really see this as a 20-17 type game. I realize you are looking at a different score with the ASU cover, but I'm still not sold for the same reasons I laid off the Washington St. game.

I do believe ASU wins, but not sure on the cover.

Good luck with all of your plays. You are having a great year.

Just one last tag on the Quizz Rogers issue.
I seriously doubt that he will play in the CW.

But remember this....

Last year it was Yvenson Bernard, OSU's #1 tailback sitting it out in the CW with an injury when backup Matt Sieverson was called upon to take up the slack. 148 rushing yards later people were saying Yvenson who?

I've seen this written before but without the whole story it's meaningless. Ducks were without their top 2 Mike's. Both Bacon and Mathews were out. they had to make do by shifting their two Wills there. Both were undersized and not ready to play that position. There will be no such issues this saturday. If anything it is the beavers who have the questions. No Quizz means they miss out on 70% of their rushing offense this year.

As for the Under, I think it is a good play. The game itself I think is a coin toss.

best of luck!

Considering how well Canfield has been playing I think he'll get the start. But if Moevao is healthy enough, he'll get some snaps, maybe more than that if things are going exceptionally well for him or if there's any kind of problem with Canfield.

I think Moevao might be a little rusty and maybe a little accident prone which is why Canfield gets the edge here -- not much of a big deal but I don't think Lyle's accuracy and timing will be on because he's been away. However if he does play a lot, he'll settle down after a while. The point is that I don't see a problem either way.

What I think will be the determining factor is how well the Beavers can contain and/or get to Masoli. I don't think we'll get a big offensive showing here by either side. This one will be decided in the trenches and by how well the defenses can stop the rush and harass the opposing QB.

Agree with you... I hope Canfield gets the start as well totally believe he is capable..

Oregon secondary is terrible anyway, they are ranked #101 vs the pass.. Horrible so either QB should have success.. Oregon St has the much better defense and a hostile home field, thats enough for me..

What do you think of Boise St now -21.5

Fresno doesn't have a prayer. I think Boise St. will run them over bad. I figure Fresno St. will throw in the towel by the 2nd half but it probably won't matter if they do. They will get buried. I'm thinking about putting more on it.

I think that might be worth a shot asudevil. That might be cutting it a little close bit under looks better than over. UCLA's pass D actually isn't so bad. If ASU finds their running game it's a good bet. UCLA can't do much more than run the ball too.

Canfield

Would scare me. He makes a good play, followed by several poor plays. He could have been picked 2-3 times at Arizona. Don't like him for 60 minutes but he can have some moments. As for Ohio State, the whole NATION would like them to sit out the BCS. It won't happen, but if OSU gets beat (very real possibility, but let's hope not), then why can't a 12-0 Boise team go instead of a 10-2 Big 10 team who won't even travel well for this one.

Sure wish $$$ in the BCS conferences dod not make a difference as 12-0 deserves it over 10-2.

Gyno I could hardly believe what I was looking at this morning when I checked the team stats. Oregon has allowed more passing ypg than WSU, Stanford and UW. They are last in the conference.

That's incredible.

You can look all that up at pac-10.org. Look under quick hits on the football main page.
I had to mention the source because I bet some people can't believe it.

Conan, would you lay -30??? Thats what my book is giving right now. My only cautiousness is if the offense only moves when they feel like it. I know the defense is more than enough for Klausons to handle . And I'll take Carrol defensive calls over Weis's lack of talent offense anyday.

3P, there's every reason to think that USC will beat these guys by 4 TD going away and then some. How much? That depends on how much resistance ND brings to the game. Doubt that they will bring much. 30 isn't asking a lot from USC here. What bothers me is that PC refuses to accept the fact that lack of style points has cost his team in the rankings. If his offense put out more, the polls would reflect it. He talks as if he doesn't care about style points and rankings but then he does because he'd be in the NC picture if his team showed the same kind of scoring output as their defense does shutting down folks. They should be toying with ND in this game. Everyone knows it. I think being at home in the coliseum with a traditional rival coming to town on national TV will be enough motivation for his offense to look good. If so, they could cover 35. If not I guess I'm fucked.

Just one thing to add...

I thought a little more about this and the first thing that popped into my head is that USC's opponent is Notre Dame. That in itself should get Sanchez's juices flowing along with the rest of USC' playmakers... at home, coliseum, national spotlight, TV game... you get the picture. To me that adds up to more than a 30 point margin of victory. That's because USC's pride is at stake. That's why they should put out the kind of effort it will take to smother ND thoroughly.

It's hard to figure what makes these guys tick. Man for man, they are the most talented team in the country. PC scoffs at the idea that style points matter and Sarkisian is no Norm Chow, that's for sure. But the ingredients are there for USC to dominate any team it wants to. I get the feeling that as long as they are out front and don't feel threatened, the players tend to lay back and just go through the motions without really stepping up and beating their man. That's the problem with betting USC. You never know when they will feel like playing up to their potential unless it's a big OOC game.

In addition to all that, Notre Dame's defense is terrible and I think a normal effort will be enough to whup them completely. If the Trojans are motivated, and I've explained why I think they will be, they should cover this number, possibly by halftime.

I thought this would happen sooner or later....

Syracuse the only school to inquire about Kelly, so far
Oregon offensive coordinator declines to comment on today's report

<!-- /.f_c100 --> Syracuse athletic director Daryl Gross has been granted permission to contact UO offensive coordinator about the Orange’s open head coaching position, Ducks coach Mike Bellotti said today.
Bellotti didn’t offer any other details. Kelly declined to comment on a report that he will interview with Syracuse on Wednesday.
“(I) don’t answer questions about other schools, I’ve told you that before,” Kelly said. “All I’m concerned with is Oregon State. We’ve got a game on Saturday.”
At this point, Syracuse is the only program to have formally contacted Bellotti about speaking with Kelly.
“But I know there’s interest from other schools,” Bellotti said.

I'm surprised... pleasantly.

Riley says Moevao will start, and Quizz - despite his pleading - won't play

OUTSIDE THE MULTNOMAH ATHLETIC CLUB ... that blue blur you saw on Burnside at about 11:30 a.m. was me after I realized the Civil War Beaver Huddle was at the posh Multnomah Athletic Club, not the Rose Room of the Rose Garden, which was strangely quiet at 11:15 as I camped out at the door.
We saw coach Riley as he arrived for the SRO event. ... people were being turned away at the door. A guy sat outside, holding a sign that said, I NEED TICKETS.
Yeah, and I need lessons in reading press releases, but that's another story.
Riley said No. 1 quarterback Lyle Moevao will star tomorrow's game, as we all suspected. But Pac-10 leading rusher Quizz Rodgers is being shut down. His sore left shoulder simply did not come around, despite the prayers of maybe 100,000 OSU fans.
Was he ever close?
"No,'' said Riley.
"We don't want to put him out there at risk in any way, and I think he would be.''
Did Quizz try to convince Riley he could go?
"Oh, he kept trying,'' said Riley. "He said, 'I'm just re-habbing, coach. I just want to be ready.' But it was a group decision. It's not about one game. There's too much at stake in a deal like this. You don't want to see a guy play that has a chance to hurt himself further, and that is the case here. So it's pretty simple.''
Riley said Moevao, who missed the Arizona game with a sore right shoulder, looked good in practice this week. "He's healthy, and so is Sean (Canfield),'' said Riley. "So we're kind of at that place right now.''
That 'place' is having two good QBs who are capable of winning the most important game at OSU in 44 years if the measuring stick is the Rose Bowl.
I asked Riley if he wanted to play this game on Friday. "Today, or next week,'' he laughed. "It's always the same for me when I get to this day. I always want one more day of practice.
"But it's time.''
Finally, it is.
