Definitely noticed all them. I would never expect a good performance after Foles after losing to Scott and Scott struggled against Iowa.
Tuel threw about 9 passes to a FR receiver, guy looked like he was quick and had a knack for getting open, dont remember his name but he was #1.
The most impressive I thought was play makers emerging on the ducks DL that weren't there to start the year. Kenny Rowe had a big game, and looks like a future force.
Yeah. WTF happened to Oregon's defense? I can't remember them EVER having a game as good as they did Saturday. What's gotten into them? That is not something that originated with Nick Alliotti. I fukin guarantee you it didn't come from him.
I am sure that Kelly has been devoting time to that side of their roster since he's become HC, but I don't think that he is DIRECTLY involved. I am trying to remember the name of that new defensive AC they hired after Kelly was promoted. Darn. Now I'm going to have to look it up again. All I know is that I was very impressed with his credentials. I don't remember if it was the same AC there who's got the huge loud voice or not. There are a few new faces on their coaching staff that impressed me.
but there MUST be something going on with the Duck defense behind the scenes under new management. There just HAS TO BE. Nick Alliotti has been there literally 20 years -- he even predates Mike Bellotti.
I'm telling you that if the Ducks can put together an effective defense that's lights out good, and Kelly just keeps on doing what he does best, the Ducks one day will wind up winning the NC in an OVERWHELMING way. But I still get the feeling that they are very volatile and not yet stable and deep, perhaps thin in a couple of dangerous positions. That will work itself out in time but this new look defense has me all twisted up in my head and in how I see that team. I really don't know what to make of it.
