The hurricane destroyed my house and all that was in it. We were not expecting it to hit our region and we didnt take it all out. I am paying at kinkos right now, but will get the story in later.

Good luck everyone

Well I do have one piece of advice that I have learned from this tradegy. First of all, we really didnt think that the storm was coming for us on Thursday morning when we left for our little "VACATION" as we thought that we were having. The storm was not supposed to do more than maybe 75 mile per hour winds. So we packed up alot of uninsured medical equipment and a few clothes and left in 4 cars. We luckily I did bring my sons playstation 2 and 20 games as well as maybe 15 DVD's of our 50 or so that we had. Then since my son would want to watch his own shows in the hotel, we packed a 20 inch TV and VCR in the car as well.

The playstation, TV and VCR idea has been great since I also packed a splitter and extra cables to split the hotel cable. First of all, it helped our sanity, then it at least kept $1000 worth of my electronics out of harms way. And we managed to bring 10 of our classic guitars with us since they would be stolen first.

But had we known that the storm would make a direct hit, then we would have brought 4 more cars with us packed with stuff. We left 2 cars at my house and 2 cars at another house. Well my mother in laws car is totally destroyed by the carport roof. She can buy her own new car for not wanting to drive out of town. But of course my other car has a tree on top of it.

We are not sure about our other house 10 minutes away at higher sea level, but hopefully it made it out OK.

The advice from me would be to PACK your car to the absolute fullest and bring every car that you can full. We brought 4 cars, but we didnt even fill them up.

Now I have to buy all new clothes etc. I even left our pets at the house, but not too worried about that, or at least until my son asks about them in a few weeks!

Well of course I dont have a personal computer now. I will buy one later this month hopefully, but it may take 6 months to get ANY insurance money and not everything was insured of course.

Well, at least we are alive.

By the way, GERALDO RIVERA doesnt know shit about what he is talking about on FOX tonight. He has made MANY mistakes and MANY,MANY more people stayed behind in the city than he thinks. I would estimate that at least 2,000 people stayed and they are probably looting the HELL out of the city right now.

Well the worst thing is that our practice will be virtually shut down for along time as well. SO no house and no money coming in for a while.

Then to just kick me in the ass, my local poker room is under water with possibly no chance for repair!

I thought you lived in Houston. Is this correct. I did not know Houston had that much damage. I hope all gets well soon. I barely escaped by about 50 miles. I live in Lafayette Louisiana. My power is out for about the next 3 or 4 days but other than that I cant complain. Good luck and I hope you get everything back in order real soon.

Take care.

I have family in Houma and this is where I stayed for the storm. Did you get a chance to see the coverage on the Houma local chanel about Doulac? That place looks just as bad as N.O. It was on HTTV. Channel 10.

Well I DID live where Geraldo is airing from tonight. Now we have season tickets to the Astros as well as the Rockets, but we live 100 miles away. Anyone want to buy my Rockets season tickets this year for less than face value?

My town took the direct hit from eyewall. Lake Charles was bad as well because it was on the eastern side of the eyewall

I hope that FEMA has some sort of relief for me for the next year or so. We shall see.

Hell this internet at kinkos is killing me right now! My first expense BEFORE a house might have to be a another computer I think. I can get one at best buy that copies DVD's and shit and has monitor and printer for around $375 after rebates. I will have to shell out $700 cash including tax, but it will be worth it. Damn, I also need to cancel my roadrunner internet service since i no longer have the modem or a computer, or electricity or a house, etc.

Oh yes, WILDBILL, my rxshirts went down with the ship before i could ever even wear them. Any chance that you could send a few to my brothers house? I really could use the clothes more than anyone here right now and would probably wear them much more until I can get to a store like Dilliards.

You left your pets to die at your house? Well, you got what you deserved. At this point lets just hope a rescue gets to your house and can save your pets so they can get a new home - I'd die and burn in hell before I left my dog alone in hurricane conditions while I took off - any effing clue how scared a dog gets in a storm?

Pets have already passed. Someone has already been to my house. Couldnt bring them with us in the cars! Next time maybe we do it differently. Except for bring 4 more cars with us packed with stuff, I would have dont nothing differently.

SEYMOUR, dont even begin to tell me that you are one of those damn PETA bitches, are you??? You sound like you hug a tree daily, well my house hugged a few trees early this morning. So now I am honorary member!

We lost a fur coat that never really gets worn as well. But that wasnt so much of a waste in Texas anyway

Seymour, that's enough.

He already stated that the hurricane wasn't supposed to hit his area.

The guy lost everything he owned dip shit!!!! Do you think that if he would have known how severe the problem was that he would have left the pets at the house. Tree huggers and animal lover such as yourself is the cause for our gas being 3 bucks a gallon. We cant build the refineries that we need to because everytime someone proposes to build one tree huggers stand in the way from that happening.
