GAME: Oakland Athletics (27-37) at Miami Marlins (28-35)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 14 - 12:10 PM EST
WHERE: Marlins Park, Miami, Florida
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

Edinson Volquez looks to continue his red-hot stretch on the mound when his Miami Marlins host the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday afternoon in the finale of a two-game interleague set. Volquez, who began the season 0-7, has strung together 16 straight scoreless innings that included a no-hitter against Arizona in his last home start and the veteran right-hander can extend his winning streak to four.

Miami slugger Giancarlo Stanton belted a two-run homer in Tuesday’s 8-1 victory over Oakland in his return after missing most of the last two games with a wrist injury, as the Marlins won for the 11th time in 16 contests overall and the ninth time in their past 11 home contests. Marcell Ozuna also went 3-for-3 on Tuesday as he improved to .386 at Marlins Park this season while Tyler Moore registered multiple hits for the fourth time in six games for Miami. Right-hander Daniel Gossett will make his major-league debut Wednesday for the Athletics, who are 1-4 with one contest left on a six-game road trip and are just 9-24 away from home. Oakland’s Khris Davis takes a seven-game hitting streak (11-for-29) into the series finale while first baseman Yonder Alonso had a hit Tuesday and is batting .344 lifetime against Miami.

TV: 12:10 p.m. ET, MLB Network

PITCHING MATCHUP: Athletics RH Daniel Gossett (NR) vs. Marlins RH Edinson Volquez (3-7, 3.41 ERA)

Gossett takes the spot of Andrew Triggs (hip) in the rotation after permitting four runs over 21 innings combined in his last three starts with Triple-A Nashville. The 24-year-old Clemson product is 3-3 with a 3.41 ERA in 11 starts with the Sounds this year and is 19-22 in 77 games overall in the minors. Gossett was a second-round pick of the Athletics in 2014 and struck out 151 in 153 2/3 innings with three different teams last season.

Volquez followed up his first career no-hitter with seven scoreless innings and three hits allowed at Pittsburgh to earn his third consecutive victory. The 33-year-old Dominican Republic native yielded one run on six hits and six walks over 22 innings in his last three starts. Volquez gave up three runs over six innings in a loss at Oakland on May 24 and is 3-4 with a 4.82 ERA in seven career starts against the Athletics.

WALK-OFFS

1. Miami OF Ichiro Suzuki’s pinch-hit single Tuesday tied him with Derek Jeter for the most hits in interleague play in major-league history with 364 (300 games).

2. The Athletics did not commit an error in the series opener, but lead the majors with 62 overall this season.

3. Oakland pitchers are 0-for-26 at the plate since Scott Kazmir’s single on June 16, 2015 against San Diego.

GAME: Cincinnati Reds (29-35) at San Diego Padres (26-40)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 14 - 3:40 PM EST
WHERE: Petco Park, San Diego, California
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The San Diego Padres look to continue taking advantage of the road-challenged Cincinnati Reds and complete a three-game sweep when they host the series finale on Wednesday afternoon. San Diego had lost seven of eight contests before running into Cincinnati, which it has outscored 15-5 in winning the first two contests of the set.

Rookie Franchy Cordero has been pounding Reds pitching, going 5-for-10 with three home runs - two in Tuesday's 6-2 triumph - and four RBIs in the series. Jose Pirela also has been swinging a hot bat, as he enters Wednesday with a seven-game hitting streak during which he has registered six multi-hit performances. The Reds were one out away from being shut out on Tuesday, but pinch-hitter Tucker Barnhart spared them the embarrassment with a two-run double. Cincinnati went on to suffer its eighth consecutive road loss and fall to 0-5 on its six-game trip.

TV: 3:40 p.m. ET, FSN Ohio (Cincinnati), FSN San Diego

PITCHING MATCHUP: Reds LH Amir Garrett (3-5, 7.40 ERA) vs. Padres RH Jhoulys Chacin (5-5, 5.35)

Garrett lasted only one-plus inning against the Dodgers in Los Angeles on Friday, exiting after being hit on the left hand by a line drive. The 25-year-old rookie from California still lost his third straight decision after yielding two runs on two hits - one homer - and a walk. Garrett, who will be facing San Diego for the first time, has not won since allowing two runs over six innings versus San Francisco on May 6.

Chacin continued his brilliance at home Friday, when he gave up two runs and three hits over seven innings against Kansas City. The 29-year-old Venezuelan is just 3-1 in six starts at Petco Park this year but owns a 1.58 ERA there, as opposed to a 10.27 mark over seven turns on the road. Chacin has made six career appearances (four starts) versus Cincinnati, going 1-2 with one complete game and a 3.10 ERA.

WALK-OFFS

1. Padres 2B Yangervis Solarte has registered six RBIs over the first five contests of the team's six-game homestand.

2. Cincinnati 1B Joey Votto is riding an eight-game hitting streak during which he has recorded four multi-hit performances.

3. San Diego OF Alex Dickerson may miss the entire season as he recently suffered a setback in his recovery from a bulging disc in his lower back.

DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 14 - 3:45 PM EST
WHERE: AT&T Park, San Francisco, California
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Kansas City Royals attempt to extend their winning streak to four games when they visit the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday afternoon for the finale of their two-game interleague series. Kansas City improved to 3-1 on its nine-game California trip with an 8-1 triumph on Tuesday as every starter in the batting order recorded a hit, with six of the nine notching a pair.

Whit Merrifield and Jorge Bonifacio drove in three runs apiece while Alex Gordon continued his resurgence, registering two hits to improve to 5-for-11 with five runs scored over his last three games. San Francisco is wrapping up a five-game homestand during which it has lost three of the first four contests. The Giants managed only five hits in Tuesday's setback, with Buster Posey and rookie Austin Slater each collecting two. The 23-year-old Slater has hit safely in six of his first eight major-league games and is riding a modest three-game hitting streak during which he is 7-for-11 while Posey is 6-for-11 over his last three contests.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Royals RH Jason Hammel (2-6, 5.43 ERA) vs. Giants RH Johnny Cueto (5-5, 4.33)

Hammel settled for a no-decision against Houston on Thursday despite allowing only one run and four hits over seven innings. The 34-year-old native of South Carolina has gone two straight starts without walking a batter after issuing 23 free passes over his first 10 outings. Hammel has yet to defeat San Francisco in his career, going 0-3 with a 3.02 ERA in 12 appearances (11 starts) - including a no-decision on April 18 in which he gave up one run over six frames.

Cueto did not factor in the decision at Milwaukee on Thursday after yielding three runs - two earned - on six hits and a season-high four walks in five innings. The 31-year-old Dominican worked at least six frames in each of his previous eight outings but went just 2-4 in that span. Cueto, who spent part of the 2015 season with the Royals and helped them to the World Series title, is 1-2 with a 3.79 ERA in three career starts against his former team.

WALK-OFFS

1. The Royals have scored 28 runs during their three-game winning streak and seven or more in each of their last six victories.

2. San Francisco has yielded eight runs in two consecutive contests.

3. Kansas City's Salvador Perez has hit 52 home runs since 2015 - tops among all major-league catchers.

GAME: Atlanta Braves (28-36) at Washington Nationals (39-25)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 14 - 4:05 PM EST
WHERE: Nationals Park, Washington, District of Columbia
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

Julio Teheran is unbeaten on the road this season but he could be hard-pressed to keep that streak intact when the Atlanta Braves visit the Washington Nationals on Wednesday in the rubber match of a three-game set. After blowing a late lead in the series opener, Washington halted a four-game skid by amassing 10 runs for the second straight night Tuesday in a 10-5 victory.

Ryan Zimmerman returned to the lineup after sitting out three games due to a back injury and went 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs to boost his batting average to a major league-leading .372. Although Teheran is 4-0 in six starts away from home, he won his last two decisions on the road despite surrendering a combined five home runs at Cincinnati and the Los Angeles Angels. Teheran was drilled for seven runs in four innings by Washington on April 19 and has been tormented by Nationals right fielder Bryce Harper, who has pelted him to the tune of 15-for-33 with seven homers and 17 RBIs. Opposing Teheran will be right-hander Tanner Roark, who has lost only once in 15 appearances (10 starts) against Atlanta.

TV: 4:05 p.m. ET, FSN Southeast (Atlanta), MASN (Washington)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Braves RH Julio Teheran (5-4, 5.08 ERA) vs. Nationals RH Tanner Roark (6-3, 3.87)

Teheran finally turned in a solid start at home with six innings of one-run ball in a no-decision against the New York Mets on Friday. He earned the win at Cincinnati on June 4 despite getting pounded for seven runs and 11 hits and beat the Angels on May 29 by allowing three runs on solo homers. Zimmerman has been held in check by Teheran, going 7-for-34 with a pair of home runs.

Roark allowed five runs and a season-worst 11 hits over six innings in a loss to Texas on Friday, snapping his three-start winning streak. He gave up five runs over 21 2/3 innings during his previous three turns, which followed a four-start winless drought. He is 5-1 with a 1.96 ERA versus Atlanta, but has trouble against Ender Inciarte (6-for-11) and Brandon Phillips (4-for-9).

WALK-OFFS

1. Zimmerman tied Vladimir Guerrero for the most home runs in Washington/Montreal franchise history with 234.

2. Atlanta 1B Matt Adams is 5-for-9 with two homers, four RBIs and five runs scored in the series.

3. Nationals CF Michael Taylor is also 5-for-9 with three doubles in the series.

GAME: Colorado Rockies (41-26) at Pittsburgh Pirates (30-35)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 14 - 7:05 PM EST
WHERE: PNC Park, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Pittsburgh Pirates are riding their longest winning streak of the season while the visiting Colorado Rockies have matched their longest skid. Buoyed by a pair of stellar pitching performances, the Pirates ran their winning streak to four and can complete a three-game sweep of the Rockies on Wednesday night.

Former National League MVP Andrew McCutchen's batting average was hovering near .200 before he was dropped to sixth in the batting order and he hasn't stopped hitting. McCutchen belted a pair of homers in Tuesday's 5-2 win and is hitting .397 with five blasts and 15 RBIs in the 17 games since his demotion, raising his batting average to .255. Colorado amassed 50 runs during a seven-game winning streak prior to its current skid and has managed only four runs in the two losses in Pittsburgh, going 2-for-18 with runners in scoring position. The Rockies are 3-3 entering the finale of their seven-game road trip and still lead the majors with 24 wins away from home.

TV: 7:05 p.m. ET, ROOT (Colorado), ROOT (Pittsburgh)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rockies RH German Márquez (4-3, 4.44 ERA) vs. Pirates RH Chad Kuhl (1-5, 5.63)

Marquez won his final four starts in May, allowing a combined four runs, but he has dipped in his last two trips to the mound. The 22-year-old Venezuelan was knocked around for six runs in five innings at San Diego on June 2, taking the loss despite recording a season-high nine strikeouts. Marquez threw 80 pitches and lasted only three innings in a no-decision at the Chicago Cubs on Friday.

Kuhl's only win came in his season debut and he has not pitched beyond five innings since April 18, but with his rotation spot in jeopardy he has turned in back-to-back solid efforts in a pair of no-decisions. He allowed two runs and three hits in five innings versus Arizona on May 31 and one run and four hits at Baltimore last time out. Lefty hitters are batting .340 against Kuhl.

WALK-OFFS

1. Rockies RF Carlos Gonalez is hitless in 24 at-bats over his last seven games.

2. McCutchen is 10-for-19 during a five-game hitting streak.

3. Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu has hit safely in six straight and 10 of 11 games.

GAME: Boston Red Sox (36-28) at Philadelphia Phillies (21-42)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 14 - 7:05 PM EST
WHERE: Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Boston Red Sox have been heating up like the soon-to-be summer temperatures with wins in 15 of their last 22 contests, highlighted by two extra-inning victories over the Philadelphia Phillies. The visiting Red Sox look to continue their good fortune against the free-falling Phillies on Wednesday when the four-game, home-and-home interleague series shifts to Citizens Bank Park.

Andrew Benintendi capped his second straight three-hit performance with an RBI single in Tuesday's 4-3 victory in 12 innings, improving to 8-for-18 with one homer and seven RBIs during his four-game hitting streak. Dustin Pedroia, who had an RBI single in the 11th inning of Monday's 6-5 win, has recorded four consecutive multi-hit efforts and collected four RBIs and five runs scored in that stretch. Philadelphia saw its season-high losing skid extend to seven games with Tuesday's loss despite a four-hit performance for Maikel Franco, who is 7-for-13 with an RBI during his three-game hitting streak on the heels of going 2-for-24 in his previous six contests. Tommy Joseph has been far more consistent for the Phillies by batting 14-for-39 with seven RBIs during his nine-game hitting streak.

TV: 7:05 p.m. ET, NESN (Boston), CSN Philadelphia

PITCHING MATCHUP: Red Sox LH Brian Johnson (2-0, 3.44 ERA) vs. Phillies RH Jeremy Hellickson (5-4, 4.50)

Johnson, who will make his fifth career start and first versus a National League foe, received a no-decision on Friday after allowing three runs on eight hits over 4 1/3 innings against Detroit. The 26-year-old was taken deep on two occasions versus the Tigers for the second time in his three outings, although Johnson insists he is focused on the here and now as opposed to the past. "What got me in trouble last year was overthinking things, and I think with the three starts and now that I'm going (Wednesday), I just go day to day," Johnson told MLB.com.

Hellickson fell to 1-4 with a 6.43 ERA in his last eight starts after allowing three runs on 10 hits in six innings of Friday's 3-2 setback at St. Louis. The 30-year-old continues to be plagued by the longball, as he was taken deep for the fourth straight outing against the Cardinals and has surrendered 14 homers in 13 starts. Hellickson owns a 4-3 mark with a 4.41 ERA in 15 career appearances versus the Red Sox, although he hasn't faced them since he pitched for Tampa Bay in 2014.

WALK-OFFS

1. Boston 1B Mitch Moreland has eight RBIs and as many runs scored during his eight-game hitting streak.

2. Philadelphia SS Freddy Galvis is 0-for-10 with two strikeouts in the series.

3. Red Sox 1B coach Ruben Amaro Jr. returns to Philadelphia after holding the same position with the Phillies from 2009-15.

GAME: Tampa Bay Rays (35-32) at Toronto Blue Jays (31-33)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 14 - 7:07 PM EST
WHERE: Rogers Centre, Toronto, Ontario
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Tampa Bay Rays are looking like a playoff contender as the mid-point of the season approaches and can post a seventh victory in eight games when they visit the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday night. The Rays pounded out 16 hits Tuesday to open a six-game road trip with an 8-1 victory at Toronto as All-Star candidate Corey Dickerson went 4-for-5 with a homer to improve his average to .337.

Evan Longoria is 8-for-16 with six RBIs during a four-game hitting streak for Tampa Bay and Mallex Smith has hit safely in five straight (9-for-19) since taking over in center field for injured Kevin Kiermaier. Wednesday’s scheduled starter Jake Odorizzi has given up three runs over 13 innings in a pair of victories against the Blue Jays this season and Toronto counters with veteran lefty Francisco Liriano, who has struggled against Tampa Bay in 2017. The Blue Jays could not solve rookie right-hander Jacob Faria in the series opener after winning three of their previous four and need Troy Tulowitzki (2-for-20, last five games) along with Russell Martin (1-for-17, five games) to warm up. Justin Smoak is 9-for-20 during a five-game hitting streak for Toronto and teammate Josh Donaldson is 5-for-9 in the last two contests.

TV: 7:07 p.m. ET, FSN Sun (Tampa Bay), Sportsnet One, TVAS (Toronto)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rays RH Jake Odorizzi (4-3, 3.59 ERA) vs. Blue Jays LH Francisco Liriano (3-2, 5.87)

Odorizzi bounced back from a poor performance in a loss at Seattle to yield three runs over 6 2/3 innings and earn the win against the Chicago White Sox on Thursday. The former first-round selection, who has allowed at least one home run in eight consecutive starts, tied a season high with eight strikeouts in that outing. Blue Jays regulars Jose Bautista, Martin, Tulowitzki and Smoak are a combined 7-for-77 against Odorizzi.

Liriano makes his third start since returning from the disabled list earlier this month after he allowed five earned runs and 10 hits with 10 strikeouts in 10 innings through the first two June outings. The 33-year-old has posted a 6.97 ERA over his last five starts, but the Blue Jays have won each of them. Liriano, who boasts 99 career wins, was pounded for nine runs in nine innings over three meetings with the Rays this year and owns a 5.61 ERA in 13 career games (12 starts) against them.

WALK-OFFS

1. Bautista is 5-for-39 with 16 strikeouts in the season series, but owns 31 homers in 147 career games against the Rays.

2. Tampa Bay OF Colby Rasmus, who was with the Blue Jays from 2011-2014, is 7-for-17 during a five-game hitting streak.

3. Toronto DH Kendrys Morales is 0-for-8 in the last two meetings, but boasts 10 RBIs in the 11 games against the Rays in 2017.

GAME: Arizona Diamondbacks (40-26) at Detroit Tigers (30-33)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 14 - 7:10 PM EST
WHERE: Comerica Park, Detroit, Michigan
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Arizona Diamondbacks are thoroughly enjoying interleague action this year and they will aim for their sixth consecutive win over an American League team when they finish a two-game set at the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday. A solo homer by David Peralta in the top of the ninth inning lifted the Diamondbacks to a 7-6 win Tuesday night and left them with an 8-1 mark in interleague play, which comes a year after they were 5-15 in such affairs.

Slugger Paul Goldschmidt also homered in the win and is 6-for-10 with two home runs, two doubles and six RBIs over his last two games. The Tigers have lost four of their last five following a 5-1 surge and they needed their bullpen to burn through 6 2/3 innings after starter Buck Farmer was knocked around in the opener. Diamondbacks right-hander Taijuan Walker will make the start after coming off the 10-day disabled list due to a blister. Jordan Zimmermann will try to continue his turnaround in June when he gets the nod for the Tigers.

TV: 7:10 p.m. ET, FSN Arizona, FSN Detroit

PITCHING MATCHUP: Diamondbacks RH Taijuan Walker (4-3, 3.46 ERA) vs. Tigers RH Jordan Zimmermann (5-4, 5.72)

Walker was on a bit of a roll before the blister became an issue, posting a 2.67 ERA over a five-start stretch, including six scoreless frames in his most recent outing at San Diego on May 19. The former first-round pick has a 2.39 mark in five road starts, although he has had to work around 13 walks in 26 1/3 innings. Walker has been reached for 10 earned runs in 10 1/3 innings in two career starts versus Detroit.

Zimmermann finished May with an unsightly 6.47 ERA and had given up 15 homers over a span of seven starts, but he's mostly kept the ball in the park this month and has back-to-back quality starts to show for it. He yielded two runs in six innings of a no-decision at Boston on Friday, striking out three and walking three. The 31-year-old Wisconsin native is 2-2 with a 3.66 ERA lifetime versus Arizona.

WALK-OFFS

1. Tigers 1B Miguel Cabrera had one RBI on Tuesday to move within one of Detroit legend Al Kaline (1,583) for 41st place on the all-time list, and two behind Harmon Killebrew.

2. The Diamondbacks are 12-6 in one-run games.

3. Arizona 2B Brandon Drury had four hits Tuesday and is 15-for-28 in interleague play.

GAME: Chicago Cubs (32-32) at New York Mets (29-34)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 14 - 7:10 PM EST
WHERE: Citi Field, New York City, New York
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Chicago Cubs may have found the solution to their recent offensive woes, and it involves their slugging first baseman batting first. Non-traditional leadoff hitter Anthony Rizzo and the Cubs hope to remain hot at the plate when they visit the New York Mets for the finale of their three-game series on Wednesday.

Rizzo led off Tuesday's game with a home run and finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs in a 14-3 victory. The Cubs belted a season-high five homers and scored more runs than they totaled in their previous nine road games - all losses. The rout ended an impressive stretch for Mets pitchers, who had allowed just one run in each contest during a four-game winning streak. New York will need a lengthy outing from Matt Harvey after taxing the bullpen on Tuesday, as Zack Wheeler didn’t get out of the second inning and the team burned its long relievers.

TV: 7:10 p.m. ET, MLB Network, CSN Chicago, SNY (New York)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Cubs LH Mike Montgomery (0-3, 2.43 ERA) vs. Mets RH Matt Harvey (4-3, 5.02)

Montgomery will be making his second start in place of the injured Kyle Hendricks, and he hopes it lasts a little longer than the first. The 27-year-old gave up two runs and three hits in four innings of a no-decision against Colorado on Friday, as three walks and a number of deep counts helped cut his outing short. Montgomery never has faced the Mets in his career.

Harvey has been inconsistent through 12 turns, posting only four quality starts while allowing five or more runs four times. The 28-year-old was excellent Friday at Atlanta, allowing four hits over five scoreless frames, but threw 104 pitches before settling for a no-decision. Harvey is 1-0 with a 1.26 ERA in two career starts against the Cubs.

WALK-OFFS

1. A win on Wednesday would give the Cubs their first series win on the road since taking two of three at Pittsburgh from April 24-26.

2. Rizzo is 11-for-26 with two homers during his eight-game hitting streak.

3. The Mets hit two ninth-inning home runs Tuesday and have belted 37 shots in their last 22 games.

DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 14 - 7:10 PM EST
WHERE: Progressive Field, Cleveland, Ohio
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

Los Angeles Dodgers rookie Cody Bellinger is on a serious home run tear and he looks to stay hot when his team continues a three-game interleague series at the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday. Bellinger went deep twice for the second straight contest to lead the Dodgers to a 7-5 win in the opener Tuesday night, recording the fourth multi-homer performance of his 45-game career.

The 21-year-old also homered two games ago to give him five over a span of three contests, which has helped Los Angeles extend its winning streak to five and catch Colorado atop the National League West. Bellinger and his teammates will take aim at Indians ace Corey Kluber, who is making his third start since returning from a back injury. He will hope for a little more support after Cleveland was limited to six hits and two runs through the first eight innings Tuesday night before a late three-run homer forced the Dodgers to turn to closer Kenley Jansen for the final out. Los Angeles is 4-0 all-time at Progressive Field and 24-9 this season when playing outside their division.

TV: 7:10 p.m. ET, MLB Network, SportsNet LA (Los Angeles), STO (Cleveland)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Dodgers RH Brandon McCarthy (5-3, 3.28 ERA) vs. Indians RH Corey Kluber (5-2, 4.38)

McCarthy has allowed two runs or fewer in eight of his 10 starts - including four straight - and he yielded just three hits in a season high-tying seven innings in a hard-luck loss against Washington his last time out. The oft-injured veteran has served up one home run in 28 2/3 innings since returning from a shoulder ailment in May. McCarthy is 6-5 with a 3.98 ERA in 19 games (11 starts) in his career against Cleveland, and he has been hit hard by Jose Ramirez (3-for-3, one home run).

Kluber went on the disabled list early in May with a 5.06 ERA, but he has looked much more like himself in two starts since returning to the mound while surrendering three runs in 12 innings. The former Cy Young Award winner has 18 strikeouts against three walks in that span and he has gone 4-0 in four home outings this season. Kluber, who has faced the Dodgers just once and was solid through 6 2/3 innings, is 11-3 with a 2.34 ERA in 16 career interleague starts.

WALK-OFFS

1. Jansen has struck out 44 of the 97 batters he has faced without issuing a walk.

2. Indians SS Francisco Lindor is 6-for-40 with no home runs and one walk in June.

3. Dodgers 3B Justin Turner is 6-for-14 since returning from a hamstring injury and has hit safely in nine consecutive games.

The Texas Rangers have benefited from stellar starting pitching to fuel their five-game winning streak. Right-hander Andrew Cashner will look to continue his team's run of good fortune on Wednesday at Minute Maid Park as the Rangers vie for a sweep of their suddenly struggling Lone Star State rival.

Nick Martinez kept the Rangers rolling after tossing six strong innings in Tuesday's 4-2 triumph, with the team's starters having yielded only seven runs on 22 hits over 32 innings during the winning streak. Rougned Odor recorded his fifth career multi-homer performance with two blasts to improve to 5-for-8 with three RBIs and three runs scored in the series. George Springer launched his second homer in three outings and Carlos Correa also went deep for the Astros, who have answered an 11-game winning streak with losses in six of their last eight. Springer is 4-for-10 with two doubles in his career versus Cashner.

TV: 8:10 p.m. ET, FSN Southwest (Texas), ROOT (Houston)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rangers RH Andrew Cashner (3-5, 3.17 ERA) vs. Astros RH Francis Martes (0-0, 9.82)

Cashner has dropped both decisions versus Houston this season, allowing eight runs on 14 hits and a 1.50 WHIP in 12 innings. The 30-year-old Texan has bounced back from two five-run performances by permitting just one in seven innings in his ensuing start. Cashner rebounded from surrendering five runs on 11 hits against the Astros on June 3 to shut down Washington on Friday, keeping the ball in the park for the third time in his last four outings and seventh in 11 trips to the mound this season.

Martes has been summoned to make his first career start Wednesday with Houston's rotation besieged by injury. The 21-year-old Dominican allowed four earned runs in 3 2/3 innings of relief against the Los Angeles Angels on Friday, giving manager A.J. Hinch an eyeful of the Astros' top pitching prospect. “With a young pitcher like Martes, it’s a battle within himself," Hinch said. “Just repeating his delivery and using his pitches and getting his first outing out of the way was nice. ... It was a low-pressure game and he could see that his stuff in the strike zone plays pretty well. But he's got some work to do mechanically to be consistent."

WALK-OFFS

1. Houston 2B Jose Altuve is 0-for-8 in this series and hitless in 12 at-bats over his last three games versus Texas.

2. Rangers SS Elvis Andrus is 0-for-7 with three strikeouts in the series on the heels of a 15-game hitting streak.

3. Astros OF Carlos Gomez (hamstring) is slated to play seven innings in a rehabilitation start for Double-A Frisco on Wednesday.

GAME: Baltimore Orioles (31-32) at Chicago White Sox (28-35)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 14 - 8:10 PM EST
WHERE: Guaranteed Rate Field, Chicago, Illinois
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Baltimore Orioles are having an exhausting time attempting to wake up from a nightmarish stretch, one that has seen the club drop 22 of its last 31 games to fall under .500 for the first time this season. After being outscored 60-17 during its six-game losing skid, beleaguered Baltimore looks to put an end to the misery on Wednesday when it plays the third contest of a four-game series against the host Chicago White Sox.

Manny Machado continued his strong series with an RBI single in the first inning on Tuesday, but it was all downhill from there as the Orioles dropped a 6-1 decision to fall to 10-22 away from Camden Yards. The 24-year-old, who is 9-for-29 this month and 7-for-19 versus the White Sox this season, owns a 3-for-6 career performance against Wednesday starter Miguel Gonzalez. American League Central cellar-dwelling Chicago has answered a dismal 2-9 stretch by winning three of its last four and looks to avenge last month's three-game sweep by Baltimore in which it was outscored 14-7. Avisail Garcia ripped a two-run double on Tuesday and is 9-for-23 with one homer, eight RBIs and six runs scored during his six-game hitting streak.

TV: 8:10 p.m. ET, MASN2 (Baltimore), CSN Chicago

PITCHING MATCHUP: Orioles RH Dylan Bundy (6-5, 3.05 ERA) vs. White Sox RH Miguel Gonzalez (4-7, 4.89)

Bundy fell to 1-4 in his last five outings on Friday despite allowing just three runs on five hits in six innings at the New York Yankees. The 24-year-old was taken deep on two occasions, however, and has surrendered nine homers in his last seven outings. The string of home runs began against the White Sox on May 6, but Bundy was able to limit the club to three runs on six hits in six innings to pick up the win.

Like Bundy, Gonzalez has struggled of late with a 1-7 mark and a 6.56 ERA in his last eight starts. Home runs are also to blame, as the 33-year-old has been taken deep 10 times that stretch (46 2/3 innings) - with Baltimore belting one in its 4-2 win over Gonzalez and the White Sox on May 5. Gonzalez is looking to improve upon his last outing on Friday, when he permitted four runs and as many walks in 4 2/3 innings of a 7-3 setback at Cleveland.

WALK-OFFS

1. Chicago 1B Jose Abreu, who recorded his second three-hit performance in four outings, is 5-for-9 with four runs scored in the series.

2. Baltimore SS J.J. Hardy has hit safely in three straight games after going 2-for-25 in his previous seven.

3. Orioles 1B Chris Davis (right oblique strain) had an MRI on Tuesday and was scheduled to fly back to Baltimore for further testing.

GAME: Seattle Mariners (32-34) at Minnesota Twins (33-28)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 14 - 8:10 PM EST
WHERE: Target Field, Minneapolis, Minnesota
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

Ervin Santana won seven games in each of the past two years, a total he surpassed in his last start after tossing his third shutout of the young season. Santana goes for his ninth win -- and first at home since May 2 -- when Minnesota continues its four-game series against the visiting Seattle Mariners on Wednesday night.

The Twins may need another big game from Santana after using up nearly a week's worth of offense Tuesday night, setting a franchise record with 28 hits in a 20-7 drubbing of Seattle. Eddie Rosario, one of three Minnesota players with three hits, became the third player in club history to hit three homers in a game. Shortstop Eduardo Escobar collected five hits as the Twins set a franchise mark with 22 singles. Nelson Cruz is 4-for-8 with six RBIs in the series for the Mariners, who have settled for a split of the first two games despite erupting for 21 runs and 33 hits.

TV: 8:10 p.m. ET, ROOT (Seattle), FSN North (Minnesota)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Mariners RH Sam Gaviglio (2-1, 2.79 ERA) vs. Twins RH Ervin Santana (8-3, 2.20)

Seattle's injury-ravaged rotation has been solidified by the promotion of Gaviglio, who has allowed one earned run or less in four of his last five starts. The 27-year-old rookie matched his season high with six innings last time out, limiting Toronto to two runs (one eared) over six innings in a no-decision. He has struggled in splitting a pair of decisions on the road.

Santana threw a four-hit shutout at Baltimore last time out to go along with a two-hitter and a one-hitter over his last 11 starts. Like the Twins, Santana has been vulnerable at Target Field with a 3-2 record and 2.63 compared to his mesmerizing 5-1 mark and 1.71 ERA away from home. Second baseman Robinson Cano has haunted Santana, going 14-for-42 with six homers and 12 RBIs.

WALK-OFFS

1. Since the start of 2015, Cruz is 19-for-39 with seven homers and 18 RBIs at Target Field.

2. Twins DH Kennys Vargas broke out of a 2-for-20 slump with four hits and four runs scored Tuesday.

3. Mariners C Mike Zunino is 5-for-9 with three RBIs in the series.

GAME: Milwaukee Brewers (34-32) at St. Louis Cardinals (30-33)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 14 - 8:15 PM EST
WHERE: Busch Stadium, St. Louis, Missouri
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

Keon Broxton is showing signs of breaking out of an extended slump for the Milwaukee Brewers, who continue their four-game series against the host St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday. Broxton was mired in an 0-for-20 funk before homering in the ninth inning at Arizona on Sunday and went 3-for-4 with a blast and three RBIs in Tuesday’s doubleheader split against the Cardinals.

"Since Sunday, his at-bats have been significantly better,” Milwaukee manager Craig Counsell told reporters. “That’s Keon. When he gets going, he can do a lot of damage.” The Brewers could use a resurgent Broxton at the top of the lineup to help alleviate the pressure on Eric Thames, who has 16 homers and 30 RBIs but is 1-for-15 over the last five games. St. Louis has won four of five following a seven-game losing streak, with leadoff hitter Matt Carpenter leading the way. The first baseman was 4-for-8 with a home run and three RBIs in Tuesday’s doubleheader and is 11-for-28 with two homers during his five-game hitting streak.

TV: 8:15 p.m. ET, FSN Wisconsin (Milwaukee), FSN Midwest (St. Louis)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Brewers RH Matt Garza (2-2, 3.83 ERA) vs. Cardinals RH Mike Leake (5-5, 2.70)

Garza missed his last start due to a chest contusion and is seeking his first victory since May 12, when he tossed six solid innings against the New York Mets. The former Fresno State star last started on June 3 against the Los Angeles Dodgers and settled for a no-decision after allowing two runs - one earned - over four frames. Garza is 5-5 with a 3.99 ERA in 14 career starts against St. Louis, including a 1-1 mark and 3.55 ERA in two turns last season.

Leake is looking to snap a three-game losing streak after allowing three runs - two earned - and a season-high 10 hits over five innings Thursday against Cincinnati. The 29-year-old has given up 12 runs and 22 hits over 18 2/3 frames in his last three outings. Leake is 5-4 with a 4.21 ERA in 14 career starts against the Brewers, including six strong innings in a 6-4 victory at Milwaukee on April 23.

WALK-OFFS

1. St. Louis C Yadier Molina (back) returned to the starting lineup for the first time since Thursday and went 1-for-4 in the first game of the doubleheader.

2. The Brewers activated 3B Travis Shaw from the family medical emergency list and optioned OF Brett Phillips to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

3. The Cardinals released INF Jhonny Peralta, recalled RHP Sam Tuivailala from Triple-A Memphis and optioned INF Paul DeJong and LHP Marco Gonzales, who was brought up to start the nightcap of Tuesday's twinbill.

GAME: New York Yankees (38-24) at Los Angeles Angels (34-34)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 14 - 10:07 PM EST
WHERE: Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Anaheim, California
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

Eric Young Jr. is proving to be an able replacement for injured star Mike Trout, which is something no one imagined when the journeyman was recalled from the minors by the Los Angeles Angels on May 29. Young is batting .314 with three homers, nine RBIs and five stolen bases in 15 games with the Angels, who host the New York Yankees on Wednesday for the rubber match of their three-game series.

Trout (broken thumb) believes he could return from the disabled list before the All-Star break on July 11, but Young continues to make a case to stick with the Angels even after the reigning American League MVP returns. Young recorded a solo homer and a walkoff RBI single in the 11th inning of Tuesday’s 3-2 victory as Los Angeles snapped New York’s six-game winning streak. Reigning AL Player of the Week Aaron Judge went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts for the Yankees, while Chase Headley led the offense with three hits, including a solo homer. Didi Gregorius doubled in the 11th inning to extend his hitting streak to a career-high 15 games just before the Yankees suffered their first walkoff loss of the season.

TV: 10:07 p.m. ET, ESPN, YES (New York), FSN West (Los Angeles)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Yankees RH Michael Pineda (7-3, 3.39 ERA) vs. Angels RH Matt Shoemaker (6-3, 4.22)

Pineda bounced back from a rough outing against Toronto by allowing one unearned run over seven innings of a 9-1 victory over Boston on Thursday. The 28-year-old won for the fourth time in five starts and improved to 6-1 with a 1.96 ERA in seven home outings this season. Yunel Escobar is 7-for-18 with two home runs against Pineda, who is 1-1 with a 7.50 ERA in two career starts against the Angels.

Shoemaker won his second straight start on Friday, giving up four runs over seven innings in a 9-4 victory over Houston. After struggling in his first seven outings, the Michigan native has gone 5-1 with a 3.19 ERA and a 33-to-9 strikeout-to-walk ratio over his last six turns. Shoemaker, who leads the Angels with 67 strikeouts, has gone 0-2 with a 4.05 ERA in two career starts against the Yankees.

WALK-OFFS

1. The Yankees are 0-12 when scoring fewer than three runs.

2. The Angels recalled RHP Mike Morin and optioned RHP Brooks Pounders to Triple-A Salt Lake.

3. Yankees LHP CC Sabathia exited Tuesday’s game after four innings with a strained left hamstring and likely will require a stint on the disabled list.
