Holy $hit Betting Stat of the Day: Rangers thrive in elimination games at MSG
By ANDREW CALEY

Two of the best words in sports are Game 7, unless of course you are the Washington Capitals.

They face a tough task tonight, when the take on the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden, where the Rangers have won nine consecutive home playoff games when facing elimination, dating back to 2008.

The Rangers have also won five consecutive winner-take-all Game 7’s, including two against Washington in 2012 and 2013.

To make matters worse for the Capitals, they are 0-4 in their last four Game 7’s in series in which they have led three games to one.

The Rangers are currently -153 favorites, while the Capitals are on the board at +138.

Action Report: Bettors loving the ‘Over’ in both NBA games Wednesday
By ANDREW AVERY

A pair of Game 5’s are on the NBA board Wednesday as the Eastern Conference series shifts to Atlanta and the series out West moves to California.

The Hawks and Washington Wizards are knotted at two games apiece with Atlanta coming off a 106-101 victory in Game 4.

According to Michael Stewart of online book Carbon Sports, the Hawks are a popular moneyline play, but spread action is coming in on the visiting team.

“Series tied at two and back in Atlanta for Game 5, the Hawks are getting 80 percent of the action on the moneyline,” Stewart. “With the possibility of (Wizards point guard) John Wall playing tonight, the line on this game has moved from Hawks -9 to -7.5 with 68 percent of the action coming in on the Wizards to cover.”

The Over/Under count in the series stands at 3-1 heading into Game 5 and bettors like that trend to continue.

“As for the total, it is set at 200 points and it has seen a steady diet of over action accounting for 66 percent of the action on the total,” Stewart says.

In the Western Conference, the Golden State Warriors posted a big win in Game 4 and head home to host the Memphis Grizzlies.

Much like the early game, moneyline action is backing the home team, but spread money is all about the dog.

“This series is also tied at two games apiece with the Warriors gaining some momentum and getting 77 percent of the action on the moneyline with the Grizzlies getting 61 percent of the action to cover the +9.5 spread,” Stewart says.

Scorelines have resulted in cashed under bets in each game so far in this series, but that isn’t stopping bettors from hammering the Over as the series moves back to Oakland.

“With each game of this series landing on the under, we have set the total for Game 5 at 196 points with a whopping 81 percent of the action coming in on the over,” Stewart.

Bettors on Rangers moneyline, Caps puckline
By ANDREW AVERY

The New York Rangers have battled back from a 3-1 deficit in their Eastern Conference semifinal series with the Washington Capitals and the two clubs square off in Game 7 Wednesday.

Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin has already guaranteed victory, but the betting public does not agree as the bulk of the moneyline is coming in on the home side.

“The Rangers are getting 69 percent of the action on the moneyline, while the Capitals are getting 77 percent of the action to cover the +1.5 goalline,” Michael Stewart of online shop Carbon Sports.

With the exception of Game 6, goals have been hard to come by in this series with both Henrik Lundqvist and Braden Holtby trying to outduel the other at the opposite end of the rink.

Books have a total of 4.5 on the board for Game 7 and a small majority of bettors, 55 percent to be precise, are backing the under.
