I knew some people that knew some people and during his time with NE, his issue was not weed.

That would be pretty funny if someone threw an NFL career away over weed rather than real addiction though. Atleast that hard drug itch is real.

puff puff pass.

"In 2014, the NFL suspended him for the entire season for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy. He was flagged for weed before the season even began. The NFL reduced his suspension to 10 games, and he appeared in five games in 2014.

Gordon’s love of marijuana cost him millions of dollars in missed salary due to a combination of stupidity and defiance. Gordon missed the entire 2015 and 2016 seasons. The Browns finally gave up on him in 2018 when they traded Gordon to the New England Patriots.

Gordon maintained his sobriety during the first half of the 2018 season and stopped smoking marijuana until he slipped during their bye week. Gordon stepped away from the team for the rest of the season to focus on his mental health. The NFL flagged him again for violating league policy.

The Pats waived Gordon in 2019 after he suffered a knee injury and the Seahawks claimed him off waivers. He appeared in five games and started just one with the Seahawks before he flunked another drug test 10 days before Christmas. The NFL suspended him for the sixth time."

Guy loves smoking weed..can't blame him.
So do i, but if i had a choice between smoking weed and making millions of dollars for a few years.... i mean, come onnnnnnn make the most out of your career, set your family up, invest your money well and then open a dispensary and get it at a discount and puff away for the next 40yrs

As a bronx tale has taught us.....

Theres nothing worse than wasted talent.

I don't think the NFL should be involved in the law abiding players' personal lives or social time. But they are

I also don't think there should be vaccine mandates, but there are.

As stated above, players should choose wisely. And do what's best for their families and their teams and their careers.

I agree that the NFL oversteps their boundaries a bit from a law enforcement aspect and Stephen A Smith said the same exact thing yesterday

Some good quotes and perspectives in this article about the deshaun watson "situation"

Isn’t this just the judge? Can’t the Commish do as he sees fit?
Yes, and he will. Power Mad Roger won't pass up this chance. Watson will
be punished by Goodell, not some namby-pamby judge.

He'll get a year. Bet on it.

If Roger was going to rule on this, it doesn't get into the courtroom

I don't know why, but this is case has moved outside his office. I don't think he can undo that.

He lost the AP case, he lost the Ray Rice case (nobody would touch Rice anyhow) and he won the Brady case because he kept it in house. It was the CBA that he used to suspend Brady, not the evidence

Roger is a lying POS

Now, if the NFL wants longer suspensions from the courts, they have to adopt new rules. They can't undo precedent because they changed their minds.

The owners, the commissioner and the players' union have to make that happen

Thinking more like 11-12 games as a compromise between the ruling and the initial goal from the league. That way Watson won't have to apply for reinstatement

The judge gave Roger a wide open door to appeal in her report.

It's true that they can't expect longer suspensions from the courts based on their rules, but Roger still essentially has the final say.

Not sure there will be much of a fight if it gets pushed to 11-12 games. That still would seem lenient to most people based on what Watson did

The clock is ticking. I read that Roger only has three days from the court ruling to act.

I always figured it was some sort of combination of alcohol, codeine, and Xanax. You aren't taking time for self help if it's weed.

If the NFL chooses to appeal, it doesn't go into Roger's office, it goes to the federal courts

And that means Watson starts the season. I don't think Roger wants that either

If you don't think the NFL is racist or bigots then you are not looking with your eyes open.

The ownership and head office all treat the players like they are their property/slaves
with how heavy handed and the over the top way they try to micromanage the player's lives
telling them how to live and act.

They may get paid hundreds of thousands or millions but it is not that much different than being on
the plantation back in the day. I only say this with the racism since most of the league is black, the white's are treated like slaves also.

Educate yourself on slavery. You just insulted every slave that ever existed.
