It was a good night for repubs but you gotta look at the number of seats that dems had to defend as opposed to repubs. This is a cycle...and you saw the same thing happen the other way in 2006. In a typical election during an 8 year term, the seat gain is typically 6 seats. Repubs right now have 7...it is way more the situation than who they president is. If obama ran tomorrow, he would still defeat any current repub candidate.

I agree with the cyclical stuff, But Obama's war mongering policy compounded it. It just deflated what was the base, that might come out a bit more in a midterm. Obama would probably defeat any Republican, but that's more because of the quality of candidates over there than any positive for Obama. But the dynamics of that race would be far different than tonight. Luckily, Obama ain't running again. From my selfish viewpoint, I hope this shakes up The Democratic Party enough to repudiate Hillary, and look elsewhere. I know that's unrealistic, but I can hope. :think2:. I'll be back engaged in Politics after the Football season, when you get back to the Poly. It'll be fun.

I just see it different. No motivation for dems to be out today. Historically they stay home on these daysrepubs did a good job of stonewaLling and obstructing and blaming obama. Their idiotic flock fell for it and that got them out to the polls. That was todays result imo.

I know you're not a Hillary fan but she will be the president in 2016.

I will be back in feb and the usuals will have to defend their lies. It will be fun. Lol.

The numbers were so stark tonight, in the Senate and especially the Governorships, that it's hard to take it any other way than a repudiation of Obama's Policies. The R's are winning every race that was considered close, with the exception of NH and Scott Brown, who is just too much of an arrogant douche for even the R's. We'll just disagree on this one.
The actual effect is none. Nothing was getting done, and nothing will continue to get done.

Yeah, I just disagree on the why...not the actual result. Maryland governor was the only race that was a surprise imo. Everything else went how I thought.

Problem now for repubs...is they have to govern. Either way it's a loss for them. If they get their agenda pushed thru..it will fail...just like it did here in pa. So you will see a complete change in 2 years again.

I mean she got more votes tonight than anyone else at over 42%.

She just needs less then 8% of the rest of the group to win the runoff.
They have been saying for 3 straight elections that she is going to lose. They have been wrong all 3 times.

If Obama pulls a "Clinton" (after 1994) and decides to lead instead of divide he has a chance of salvaging his legacy. If not, he will be remembered as one of the least effective presidents in the history of our nation. He has to lead because tonight's results are far more than an "election cycle".

I have never been a Chris Matthews fan but tonight he is telling it like it is and is slamming Obama pretty hard.

He's had no chance. Republicans have stated their most important issue was stopping the obama agenda. Mcconnel stategy of obstructing and blaming obama worked. It got his base out tonight.

Clinton never had to deal with the crop of loons that make up the repubs in house and senate.

Chris matthews has not been the obama cheerleader many will have you believe but if you don't slam obama on everything these repubs brand you an obama lover. Matthews has said a lot of negative things about obama

Yes it did. Quite well. The Republican strategy worked to a T. Now comes the hard part. They broke it, they own it. Obama is an irrelevancy at this point.
You are, of course, correct on Mathews. He, and much of MSNBC has been slamming Obama for months. Rightfully so. When your single biggest isssue is anti War, to avoid Wars and don't get into stupid wars, and you violate it, you deserve to get slammed.

Lmao. Acebb calling me a coward for not posting plays. Hysterical. Am I being punk'd? Where is Ashton? This fat loser can't be for real.

Can't wait to see your picks on saturday. Better hope those newsletter sheets have a good week!

You were offered a wager.

You ran.

You're a coward.

I love the fact you've been reduced to saying "I have money!" and "I have a big bankroll!!"

I bet you do, loser. I mean, you've never had a winning season, so those idiotic claims are like totally believable.

The moron who started this thread was begging, begging me to come interact with him and look how it turned out for him:

1. Caught in multiple lies about my basketball picks
2. Offered a wager at 5-1 odds and ran like the pathetic little pussy he is
3. Revealed he is an absolute stalker by remembering a single post (which he misrepresented) I made in the service plays forum almost 13 months ago
4. Reminded everyone he wanted the Steve Stevens fade because he can't win
5. Was laughably reduced to screeching that he has money and a big bankroll (and "goes to the gym every day!")
6. The party he votes for gets crushed in an election.

You might want to stop begging me to interact with you, you dumb asshole. Go pound the keyboard that about how tough you are now.
