Interesting story.

Here's another that might be of interest: how have 2 books collapsed recently under the nose of some very informed people?

I think its clear, however, that I am 1000% qualified to run a Las Vegas sportsbook.

I havent got a clue and anyone who bets $400 on a game scares the crap out of me!

Jazz - Hey it even happened in Vegas in the 80s when Gary Austins went belly up right on the Las Vegas strip. If he still owned that piece of property now (across from the Fashion Show Mall) he would be a VERY RICH man!!!

The fact of the matter is that in the everyday business world this happens everyday.

If anybody was keen to knowing and predicting the future of the ups and downs of a business with 100% certainity they would be the richest man in the world.

Haha, yeah that is the scenario. Buy up a poorly designed casino with shit for managers and then kill off their competition. Indians could put up a barn with crappy machines and people still would go to it before the Planet Hollywood...

I went to Aladdin a week or two after it opened. I parked in the parking garage and walked... and walked... and walked... and walked some more... to get to the casino.

It took me about 15 minutes of walking to get from the parking garage to the tables.

I realized then that Aladdin wasn't going to make it.

David- You nailed it right on the head! A very bad entrance area and the long walk like you said if you were to park in the back was the beginning of the end for this flop. They should have just remodled the old Aladdin and used the extra cash for somethng better. What a shame. Lots of memories from that place.

Come on, you know there is more to this story
than what's been told. The guy probably snuck
in several cards using friends because they reduced the limits due to bad numbers on the card. Or, he had help from a writer who took
the cards in when the sign said game #43 and #47 excluded.

Does anyone think he went up there with a pile
of cards at the same time and then after a couple hit they 86ed him. I'm not buying it. As I said there is always more to the story.

Is that all? 50 mil is not a whole shitload of money, especially since it is "legal" and they have a virtual monopoly on sportsbetting in the U.S. Don't offshores pull in a ton more than that?

Drunk guy - that is Nover's story, but 51 million JUST on the NFL seems correct. That doesn't include all the other pro and college sports!!!

I heard this guy won the same parlay at LEroys and Leroy wanted to stiff him but they finally paid half of what they owed him, like 75 of 150K.
