The real Dream Team would destroy this years version of team USA. Four years from now this team might be somewhere close to the '92 team because this team is very young, but the '92 team would beat these guys by 20+ no questions asked. The Redeem Team is a more fitting name.

That would be a hell of a match up..not so sure the 92 team would beat this team by 20..Although laden with hall of famers..Most of those guys were in the twilight of their careers..Not worth the debate..We will never know anyway

When did I say that? I said they played a sloppy first quarter, and they did. That is not debatable. It turned out a sloppy first quarter was still good enough to outscore Spain by 7. I'm not saying USA is bad or that Spain will beat them, all I said is they played sloppy and I wasn't impressed with either side.

Are all Americans as sensitive as the ones on this board? You mention something might not be perfect about the good 'old US of A and it's an all out war...

Yes, you did. If you read what you say about USA in your post, then look at your comment, it doesn't make sense. Use your logic in that post with the comment you made and switch SPAIN with USA. You basically made a reply that made no sense at all.

Ummm, Spain is playing as good as I've seen them play. Don't bring up the TURNOVERS, because there's nothing they, you, or any of us can do about that. See my 1on1 vs Jordan comment. Sometimes, when the opposition is superier there's just nothing you can do about it.

There is something you could do about. Those are talented players on Spain, they are just getting rattled too easily and throwing passes without even looking. I love Rubio and the kid is amazing, but he spins uncontrollably way too often and it leads to turnovers. They need a more experienced PG like Calderon. USA will get TO's just because they are so much more talented, that I agree with, but a lot of the turnovers I've seen were simply bad plays because they got nervous. USA has made some bad TO's too just from being a little too cocky, but they can get away with that stuff.

It's basketball. I hate when people make excuses from BASKETBALL related plays. It's not like his shoe laces were untied and he tripped over them.

It's like saying, "well he wouldn't have thrown that interception if that cornerback didn't jump in front of the wr."

That's actually a workable comparison in some ways. A QB making a throw without looking around and noticing the DB is like some of the passes Spain is making up the court without noticed a man right behind the Spain player waiting to jump in front. Obviously sometimes it's hard to notice everything that is going on in the moment when you also have a top 10 player in the world guarding you and pressuring you up the floor, but there has just been some bad passes. It's not an excuse for Spain though. Part of the game is being good/smart enough to locate all the players on the floor and make all the smart passes.

Listen young buck..that 92 team was made up of alot of platers past their prime..And most of all gentlemen

The current talent of the competition is far greater than it was in 92..Care to debate that?

The competition internationally is definitely much tougher than it was in '92, but I still don't think there is any doubt that the '92 team was much, more more talented. I don't know if there will ever be a better team assembled than that team USA, at least not for a while. Guys like Boozer, Redd, Prince (as much as I like him), Kidd and even Williams wouldn't even have made the tryouts for the '92 team.
