They obviously have more talent, but your point was you can't say it's a bad quarter if you score 38 points. That is stupid because as I pointed out those teams score that many regularly and they play some of the worst basketball I've seen. Maybe it's enjoyable for the average fan to see a sloppy game with a lot of points, but it isn't good basketball. Could the Americans shut Spain down if they were intense and hungry all game? Yes, most likely, but the point was they weren't playing well. That is all I said and it stood true in the 2nd half. If they weren't shooting so well they'd be losing.
Spain isn't playing great either btw. They can play better defense, but having Calderon out really hurts.
The real Dream Team would destroy this years version of team USA. Four years from now this team might be somewhere close to the '92 team because this team is very young, but the '92 team would beat these guys by 20+ no questions asked. The Redeem Team is a more fitting name.
When did I say that? I said they played a sloppy first quarter, and they did. That is not debatable. It turned out a sloppy first quarter was still good enough to outscore Spain by 7. I'm not saying USA is bad or that Spain will beat them, all I said is they played sloppy and I wasn't impressed with either side.
