exactly the opposite... teams rest players on weekend games in preparation for Champions League. City are a public team. I'm half Dutch and a long time Ajax supporter. This result doesn't surprise me in the slightest. It has nothing to do with City not trying, if you're watching this game at all you would see that isn't close to the case.

Ajax have plenty of chemistry, they are great on the ball and can score in bunches. Couldn't be happier with this scoreline (with all do respect of course Aruk). But hopefully now Ajax will begin to get the respect they deserve.

Manchester City's team tonight costed more than €220 million. The Ajax eleven: €4 million... you can't buy teamwork. This is "total football" at its finest.

Ya, this is not even the game i was talking about....LOL! I just wanted some goals scored in the Real Madrid game........that's all! Glad you cashed in on Ajax, congrats.

lol well I completely misunderstood that then, my mistake. My love for Ajax took over there. They're a very strong team but they play Man City so everyone counts them out. Then we win 3-1 and it's dubbed the "upset of the group stage"... hardly! Dutch supporters who follow the team closely could see this coming from a mile away. Great to see from Ajax. Hopefully they start getting some credit now.

RR11, agree with you but still surprised with the result. Not the way this match of polar opposites should have gone. But props to Ajax, they played well and winning by 2 goals deserves respect.

We should see my expected result when these two clash in Manchester.

Have a great day we'll get them next time.

Completely agree. While Ajax are tough to beat at home, they will get away from their game in Manchester trying to sit back and defend. That is not their style. Your scoreline will be true in Manchester.

LOL, OK so lets just say you are a die hard Ajax supporter and leave it at that. Ajax played above their abilities against a team that played below theirs. A perfect storm.

Ajax supports were HOPING this was coming (and it did) because let's face it their record sucks domestically and internationally. They only won 5 of their last 13 and lost their first two CL matches by a 5-1 margin.

I hope they move on because I want to see them do well for you and your supporters, but they are and will be an underdog. Moving to the next stage would certainly be an amazing accomplishment and I wish them luck.

I never mind losing to a good team or a team that deserves the win and Ajax deserved it this evening.

RR I certainly respect your soccer insight and I always consider your picks weekly. Keep it up.

Hilarious Vito, your real pick gets blown up today after your chelsea pick gets blown up yesterday, but you still have the balls to come in here and talk sh*t on someone else's picks.

are there teasers in soccer?

Yes there are but they are referred to as alternate lines. You can parlay them as we'll depending on the book.

The vig is quite high in those instances. If you are buying a goal or two it can be very high.

Just parlay the alternates and you will get your teaser. Just not on the same game, no parlays on the same game.

BOL

I recommend BET365 for soccer alternates on totals and sides.

Hi Varkey,

Not touching the Cup Matches but if I was it would be the Over 3 in Man U v Chelsea.

We'll see alot of changes in the starting XI and that will give the match a different mood. However, we should see some carry over from Sunday and that should create a spark in the match.

Too much happening with these clubs with respect to real important matches looking ahead of today so there is little or no interest in today's match. I like the fact that both clubs have been involved in some high-scoring games in League Cup play over the past two seasons.

BOL.

OK cool. I won't be touching it.

Wish I posted my +650 small play on Querrey to beat Djokovic today! Loved it.

GROUP B

Olympiakos Piraeus vs. Arsenal
2:45pm

Group Status:

· Arsenal has advanced to the next stage.
· Olympiakos Piraeus have failed to advance but, they have an opportunity to finish 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] and qualify for the knock out phase of the Europa League.
· Olympiakos Piraeus has advanced to the knockout stage of the Europa League by finishing in 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] place.
· 1[SUP]st[/SUP] Place is still up for grabs but the likelihood that Schalke will lose to Montpellier is almost non-existent.

Olympiakos are on a bit of a run at home winning their last 8 home matches in all competitions with a goal differential of +17.

Arsenal’s manager Wenger has decided to leave 6 regulars at home for this match and is under no pressure to win tonight. They did travel with regulars Giroud, Ox and Arshavin.

Without making a huge meal of this match; it’s quite simple to see that the home side will be more determined to win in front of their supporters. Although Arsenal have little chance to finish first, the starting XI will do their best to prove something to their manager.

I see this ending 3-1, or 3-2 and if Schalke are even or trailing at the half, we will see a motivated Gunner side in the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] half trying to finish with a win.

I know everyone and their dog is expecting the Greek side to win but I am avoiding what could be a trap and taking the total today. This should be an exciting match to watch and let’s hope Montpellier is leading or even at the half.

I will take Olypiacos, Arsenal's stars will not play tonight.

Cazorla, Wilshere, Arteta, Podolski & Walcott as well as Per Mertesacker will not play.

Good call thanks for the tip ca$$$$h it

Thank you. I have to admit the CL & EL are tough ones to call IMHO. But sometimes they just work out the way you expect them too.

I hope to have another pick for tomorrow later this evening. The Juve match is fixed so I will likely put 5 units on the draw but will not post it as an official pick. It is the team my family supports and we cannot trust the Old Lady with all our money.

I will likely post another match.

GROUP G

Celtic vs. Spartak Moscow
2:45pm

Group Status:
· Celtic is sitting in third place.
· Celtic need a victory PLUS a Benfica Draw or Loss to Barcelona.
· Benfica need a Celtic loss to guarantee passage to the knock out phase.
· Spartak Moscow is firmly at the bottom of the table.

I’m going to start with the other match in this group; Barca vs. Benfica. Barcelona has only lost once in their last 19 competitive home matches and that was to Real Madrid 1-2 this past April. Barca does not lose at home. With this in mind I cannot say for certain (100%) that Barca will not lose but I am over 95% sure that they will Draw or Win against Benfica.

Now let’s look at the Celtic vs. Spartak Moscow match:

Celtic has had a bit of a hangover at home since beating Barcelona in their last CL match. They have not won at home since. I have learned the hard way to ignore Celtic’s domestic results when considering them for Europe. They are two different sides and they have the help of a certain outside group who can persuade opponents.

Spartak haven’t won in their last four matches either and they have conceded 13 goals while only scoring 4. Plus they are in a high state of instability, having sacked their manager after a 5-1 loss (at home) in a year end derby to Dinamo Moscow. Their interim manager isn’t doing any better at the helm (LOL). To add insult to injury they have key absences due to injury and suspension. Finally, the Russian Premier League season is over with 1 match left on Dec 12[SUP]th[/SUP]. It will resume in March 2013 so it’s safe to say they have given up on 2012.

This is what I anticipate happening today:

Celtic will keep pressing knowing full well that a victory will vault them into the knock out phase and that’s a lot of cash for Celtic. They are pretty sure Barca won’t lose and I think there has been an arrangement made quite similar to the Juventus vs. Shakhtar match with the Russians resulting in a Celtic victory.

I lean on the Over 2.5 goals but I cannot get it at a good price so I am passing and I refuse to take the Over 3.

Celtic -1.0 (-115) 3.45 Units
