Two judges were paid off. They had Conor winning one round. Casinos stood to lose $50m.

Ha... The fix was in? This fight was pretty legit, was more legit than I thought it would be, plus it was an entertaining boxing match, which is rare. Connor went ten rounds with one of the best of all time with no experience, and I have respect for that, he made it look respectable. He got his ass kicked in the end though, and it wasn't close. Connor lost this fight and it was pretty precise.

A more interesting question for people who backed off on betting Floyd because they didn't think the fight would be on the up and up is what do you think now?

Not everything is a conspiracy theory. The guy giving up his perfect record to someone who isn't even in his sport was pretty far fetched. Given this spectacle, I didn't think it was totally impossible, but pretty damn far fetched.

I for one backed off betting on the fight because of the weird amount of wagers coming in on Conor.
Every time they announced those $1 Million wagers, the line would move the other way.
Did I think Conor had Any chance what so ever ?? NO
and I didn't think they would use a MMA fighter to break his perfect 50-0 chance.

I actually didn't like the idea of this match up for ANY reason. Boxing is a dying sport. It has been for years.
This match did nothing to give life to Boxing. But it was something different. ( Like when Ali fought that wrestler back in 76 ) * it was a big draw
I think this was All about the Money and Nothing else.

Don't even know what that response means in relation to my comment.

You`re saying it didn`t matter how the round by round scoring went because it was a TKO.

I`m saying the judges are hardly ever fair when scoring a fight round for round.

Judges are all over the place.....Not a secret that they are extremely controversial when it comes to the scoring.

No biggie.....Just speaking my mind.

No one outside of 2 judges gave rounds 2 and 3 to Mayweather. I checked a lot of live scoring sites before starting the thread.

Yep, and in the post fight press conference, they both seemed to be laughing about it and all the money they got from the people that paid for it.

I actually told my wife, if it had been a Pacquiao fight against McGregor, I wouldn't have been surprised if he took a dive (my understanding is he's got some financial woes). Mayweather isn't hurting for money so I dismissed the thought.

I think it didn't matter win or lose, Mayweather would walk away with $300 Million +

I could be wrong

12:16 a.m. Round 1 to McGregor (10-9, 1-0 McGregor): McGregor was busier and got some good punches in. Mayweather feeling him out as he is apt to do, and leaning on the ropes. McGregor is going to need to win the earlier rounds if he is going to win this fight. 12:20 a.m. Round 2 to McGregor (10-9, 2-0 McGregor): McGregor is busier, again, and is landing some off-angle shots on Mayweather. He's not exactly the most technically sound fighter (obviously) but it seems to be keeping Mayweather off balance some. The fight is still young.
12:25 a.m. Round 3 to McGregor (10-9, 3-0 McGregor): McGregor was warned numerous times for hammer fists to the back of Mayweather's head. McGregor was popping the jab a bit. Mayweather still not very active.
12:28 a.m. Round 4 to McGregor (10-9, 4-0 McGregor): Man, I'm really having a hard time believing McGregor looks pretty decent in this fight. Mayweather's most active round, and he was nailing some pretty big shots, but McGregor's jabbing and counter punches are finding a home now. But this round could have gone either way, I think.

ROUND 3: Conor McGregor opened up the round with another solid punch. A tremendous start for the UFC champion. Floyd Mayweather has not attempted many punches thus far, it seems like he’s just biding his time and trying to figure out the Irishman’s timing. McGregor needs to watch the hammerfists, though, he can’t afford a point deduction. Score: 10-9 Conor McGregor (30-27 CM) ROUND 2: Another lackluster round for Floyd Mayweather. Conor McGregor again was the aggressor and threw a lot more punches. He’s been physical when possible, but still hasn’t landed a straight left-hand jab. Score: 10-9 Conor McGregor (20-18 CM) ROUND 1: We’re underway! Lot’s of defense from Floyd Mayweather in that round, as expected, although McGregor did land an uppercut on the boxing legend. McGregor didn’t come out swinging, but he was solid.

Raiders, I don't think anyone is disagreeing with you about R2 and R3 but what you want us to say?

It's like if the Patriots are playing the Jets and the Pats get a nice PI call in the first quarter. 3 hours later it doesn't really seem so important.

We get your point, it's just moot.

Of course it's moot. All this crying about one round or another would only be relevant if the fight went to a decision....which it didn't.

Here, I'll make you feel better. On my scorecard, McGregor won rounds 1 though 9 and got TKO'd in the 10th. Is that better?

Some people just can't let it go. It's over. Move on.
