I hate to date myself....but I remember in the mid 2000s when Dr. Bob was all the rage and every Thursday afternoon the lines would move 3, 4, even 5 points on his plays! There was some discussion that sportsbooks were subscribing to his plays to beat the punters to the line move. Anyway, I was listening to a podcast and a respected LV sportsbook director was on and he called the idea that any respectable sportsbook would care what play a tout put out to be both comical and amateurish. And as we all know, Dr. Bob has been in a long slumber the past 10+ years. Believe me, sportsbooks don't care about touts at all.Only RAS has that kind of affect on the line that quickly...and YES they do have that impact. Maddux...you're right....nope.
About 20 years ago Phil Steele/NC did move the line with their GOYS.There is 0% chance that is true. There isn't a single sports tout that sportsbooks are afraid of. In fact, on his website, sportsbooks appear to be key advertisers. How can that be?
Just because that is mathematically equivalent to betting 2 NFL games on a Sunday, does not mean it's the same. First, placing 19 bets is just stupid. Second, 148 games that day? On what planet were there 148 games? so 300 teams played'? Betting on 37 games is pure stupid, even if theres 600. Sorry.

This was a pretty famous sportsbook director who still is around and is always quoted by the sports gambling media. I am not sure how to respond other than to say that most people on here overestimate the influence and reach that touts have in the sports gambling world. Sure, some touts are better (and more transparent) than others but for virtually all of them, long-term winning is elusive and not even their main priority.Subscribing to Dr. bob's plays r vastly different from fearing his plays. 2nd, source of the info - coming from a sportsbook director, come on, u think those testosterone dudes thinking they R ALL BAD ASS, THE MEN would even come close saying they care on anything. Never once in my life those director dudes don't come across being boastful, bad ass until they get laid off.
Back those Thursdays, those games just off the board for a minute or two b4 the real time computer systems kick in now.
