11/11: Tuesday NBA Free Pick: Play Hornets/Blazers Under the total.

Portland plays its best defense at home in the Rose Garden and the under is 5-1 in Trail Blazers last 6 home games. Charlotte is in town and the under is 5-0 in the Hornets last 5 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game. Charlotte is 21st in the NBA in points scored and the under is 12-3-1 in the Blazers last 16 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.

Free Tuesday NBA Play from Mr. Vegas:

11/10 04:05 PM NBA. Kings at Mavs: A pair of run and gun teams and the over is 39-19-2 in the last 60 meetings, including 13-4 over the total in the last 17 meetings in Dallas. The Kings are one of the surpise teams in the NBA this season, posting a 5-2 record both S/U and ATS. They have gone over in four straight and now play one of the best offensive efficiency teams in the NBA in Dallas. The Mavs have scored over 100 points in four of six games and this one promised to be a high scoring affair.

Comp NBA Pick for Tuesday, November 11, 2014: 8:05 PM EST

(503) LOS ANGELES LAKERS VS (504) MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES

Take: (504) MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES.

Reason: Your Bonus Play for Tuesday, November 11, 2014 is in the NBA contest between the LA Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies. In horse racing terms, the Lakers finally broke their maiden on Sunday night. After starting the season 0-5 S/U, they finally got a win at home over Charlotte, 107-92. Don't let this one game fool you though, this is still not a good team. Kobe is old, they have no big man at center, no bench and a terrible defense. Yes, they held a slow paced Hornets team to just 92 points, but that was the first time they held a team to under 108 points this season. Now they head back on the road where they have allowed 119 to Phoenix and 127 to Golden State. The Lakers still have the worst defensive team efficiency in the league at 117 (points per possession times 100). The only good thing is that they play a slower paced Memphis team tonight (91 pace, league average 92). The Grizzlies haven't been very efficient either, posting only a average 102.4 number. Still, the defense is great again this year and that's why the Grizzlies are 6-1 S/U and 4-3 ATS with five straight UNDERS. They have helod their last six opponents to 93 or fewer points and Charlotte didn't even make 70 against them. So this is why I say not to get to excited about the Lakers beating Charlotte. Expect Memphis to score more than their average here tonight against this terrible LA defense. Grizzlies should be able to shut down Kobe and Jeremy Lin and that doesn't leave much else for them. Lay the big number here with Memphis. Your Bonus Play is on the Grizzlies.

Toronto Raptors off to a franchise best 6-1 SU/ATS start to the campaign with a +11.6 points/game winning margin take the floor in a desirable winning situation when they face the young core of Orlando players on Tuesday. That's because Raptors have had great success vs Orlando winning eight consecutive encounters outscoring Magic by an average 12.4 points/game while posting a profitable 6-1-1 mark at the betting window. Looking further back Raptors have won 11-of-15 meetings (12-3 ATS) and are very comfortable playing Magic north of the border posting a 5-2 SU/ATS mark. The most compelling numbers in the Raptor's favor, they've responded at home as double digit faves with one days rest cashing five straight tickets and have a profitable 8-4 ATS record following a 15 point victory the previous effort. The numbers clearly illustrate Raptors are the right choice.

Orlando Magic vs. Toronto Raptors

Bonus Play Under

Orlando is averaging just 92.5 points during regulation in seven games this season. The Magic don't shoot free throws well and have a turnover-prone rookie point guard, Elfrin Payton, who is struggling offensively. The under has cashed 70 percent of the time during Orlando's last 51 road matchups.

Toronto has held Orlando under 100 points in each of the last eight meetings, including a 108-95 victory achieved 10 days ago. Orlando has averaged less than 90 points per game during its eight-game losing streak to Toronto.

The Raptors are playing well, especially at home where they are 4-0 holding their last three opponents at Air Canada Centre to an average of 86.7 points and 41.3 percent shooting from the floor.

Orlando is a very bad road team dropping 29 of its last 31 away from Amway Center. Only four times in these 31 games have the Magic reached triple-digits. The Magic are not a good perimeter shooting team and could be additionally distracted by what the Raptors will be wearing for this game to commemorate Remembrance Day. The Toronto players will wear special camouflage jerseys.

The teams did combine for 203 points in their first meeting. They are now more familiar with each other after such a short turnaround. It should be strongly noted, too, that the teams combined to shoot 72 free throws in that matchup with Toronto getting to the line 48 times. That certainly doesn't figure to happen again.

Dallas Stars vs. Arizona Coyotes

Free NHL Play Dallas Stars

The Dallas Stars came into this season with lofty expectations, but they come into tonight's game as losers of seven in a row. All of those losses came against teams with a winning record though, and they could catch a break tonight in Phoenix against the 6-7 Coyotes. The Stars have really struggled to keep the puck out of their own net, but Arizona isn't exactly an offensive juggernaut ranking 25th in the league averaging 2.4 goals per game.

The Coyotes have also been terrible defensively, ranking 26th in the NHL in goals against, and 27th on the penalty kill with just a 74% kill rate. Starting goaltender Mike Smith is 4-7 with a 3.22 GAA on the season, and he'll be tested by one of the NHL's most prolific scorers in Tyler Seguin. The 22 year old scored a hat trick against the Sharks on Saturday, and his 19 points so far rank among the league leaders.

Three of the Stars four wins this season have come on the road, and I like their chances of ending a long losing skid in Arizona tonight.

Tuesday NBA Bullet Points

Dallas -6.5 vs Sacramento (206.5)

1st meeting between these clubs this season. Dallas went (3-1 SU) vs SacTown last season. However, 3 of the 4 games were decided by 4 points or less. The Kings are playing their 3rd game in 4 days tonight & are coming off a (101-93) loss AT the Thunder on Sunday. That loss snapped the Kings 5 game win streak SU & ATS, as Boogie Cousins has been a monster so far this season. The Mavs are coming off a (105-96) HOME loss to the Heat on Sunday. The Mavs have dropped 2 of their L/3 games, as they have been completely out played AT Portland and on Sunday to the Heat. The Underdog has covered 5 straight in this series. The Kings are (5-1 ATS L/6) games playing on 1 days of rest & the OVER is (6-1 L/7) Mavs games playing on 1 days of rest. The ‘very early sharp money’ grabbed the Kings side (for now). I have a lean to the Kings side here (if it goes back to +7).

Portland -7.5 vs Charlotte (194.5)

These teams split their two games last season. Both teams with 30 point boat-race wins at HOME. Both games sailed OVER the total as well. In fact over the last 2 years, ALL 4 of their meetings have gone OVER the total. The Hornets are playing their 2nd game of 5 game west coast roadie tonight. They’re coming off a (107-92) loss AT the lowly Lakers on Sunday night. The Trail Blazers are coming off a (116-100) blow out win over big time struggling Denver on Sunday. Portland does head out for a quick 1 game roadie after tonight, as they play AT Denver tomorrow night. Portland will be w/out small forward and “Mr. Do It All” Batum tonight (right knee contusion). He injured his knee in the last 2 minutes of their last game on Sunday. Portland has covered 6 straight at HOME vs these Hornets. Portland is one of the NBA’s “elite HOME teams” and they are (4-1 SU & ATS) at HOME this season. ALL 4 HOME wins have been blow out wins of at least 16 points (OKC, Cavs, Dallas & Denver) while their lone home loss was to Golden St. The ‘very early sharp money’ is all over the UNDER here & I do not have a lean in this game (for now).
