Having done this cleanse many times through the years all I can say is STOP!

I was a big proponent of this for a long time BUT I just had a severe gallstone attack. The end result was the removal of my gallbladder. The doctor told me it was full of stones and could have been very dangerous to me.

Guess what causes stones to accumulate in your gallbladder? Thats right, fasting. I can't help but think that I did myself some serious damage doing the cleanse.

FWIW:

Causes of gallstones
  • Rapid weight loss. As the body metabolizes fat during rapid weight loss, it causes the liver to secrete extra cholesterol into bile, which can cause gallstones.
  • Fasting. Fasting decreases gallbladder movement, causing the bile to become overconcentrated with cholesterol, which can lead to gallstones.

A question for those who have tried this ...

Do you continie to have the shits alll day, or just in the morning after you drink the salt/water mixture ? Any issues of running to the can anytime during the day/at work ?

Thinking of giving this a try. Cleaning out the system after some 16+ years of drinking/smoking/poor eating habits should do the body good.

Any advice/suggestions ?

Advice? Sure. Eat better and exercise. This is no miracle pill. This is total BS. I am just stunned that there are so many people in this thread eating this shit up.

This is one of the worst things you can do to your body. Frankly, I'm surprised this thread's even allowed to exist here without a MAJOR DISCLAIMER.

Well being a muslim, I naturally detox my body every year by fasting during Ramadan... so this sea salt detox is a once in a while thing for me - typically I have a good digest system... I eat alot of fruits and veggies throughout the day and drink half a gallon of water.

your right that the lemon and syrup is good for ya, but I couldn't go that route as that will takes 4-5 days to complete the detox, and I only had 1 day. I had alot of important clients to meet with that was touring our facilities - so I didnt wanna be in the shitter every now and then lol.

I think just laying off shit like pepsi and coke and drinking water and juices does enough for your body - with my experience at least. Ive been drinking pomegranate with cranberry juice (organic) for the past month

as long as my piss comes out clearish yellow... im happy :pope:
