I don’t think it should count unless it gets through the senate

He's actually not impeached, not until the House sends the impeachment to the Senate

So he's not even impeached yet

Nancy doesn't want to send it to the Senate, she knows she loses control of the narrative, and that's all she has. Heaven knows they can't convict Trump of jaywalking, never mind an impeachable offense.

Impeachment happened with the house vote.

Impeachment does not mean removal from office. it basically is only the first step in removal from office

Nope.

Trump Isn’t Impeached Until the House Tells the Senate

According to the Constitution, impeachment is a process, not a vote.

Now that the House of Representatives has voted to impeach President Donald Trump, what is the constitutional status of the two articles of impeachment? Must they be transmitted to the Senate to trigger a trial, or could they be held back by the House until the Senate decides what the trial will look like, as Speaker Nancy Pelosi has hinted?

The Constitution doesn’t say how fast the articles must go to the Senate. Some modest delay is not inconsistent with the Constitution, or how both chambers usually work.

But an indefinite delay would pose a serious problem. Impeachment as contemplated by the Constitution does not consist merely of the vote by the House, but of the process of sending the articles to the Senate for trial. Both parts are necessary to make an impeachment under the Constitution: The House must actually send the articles and send managers to the Senate to prosecute the impeachment. And the Senate must actually hold a trial.

If the House does not communicate its impeachment to the Senate, it hasn’t actually impeached the president. If the articles are not transmitted, Trump could legitimately say that he wasn’t truly impeached at all.

That’s because “impeachment” under the Constitution means the House sending its approved articles of to the Senate, with House managers standing up in the Senate and saying the president is impeached.

Yes, we've obviously never seen this before (in so many more ways than one), but technically he's not impeached by the house until the House notifies the Senate. She may never do that.

If your bet reads something like "will the house vote to impeach", then you already lost.

Perfect example of this country's 'news'. I can totally see how tons of people thought he was impeached. All the news sources I looked at titled the articles and made the public believe he was impeached. But yeah, as stated above that's just the house vote, and also the vote with a democratic majority. Now it goes to the senate (Republican majority) & will most likely go opposite way. I believe I read that a 2/3 vote is needed. No matter what news source you hear/see DO NOT TAKE IT AS TRUTH. Look into what politicians have done and what there policies have been so you have actual evidence. We are SOOOO Misinformed as citizens in this country...HUGE problem no matter where you side politically.
But personally, I find it ridiculous that a president can have an affair in office (Clinton) and gets impeached rather quickly while a prez that has made numerous impeachable offenses is so difficult to get rid of. Unless you are in favor of having limited or more expensive health care, don't give a sh** about the air you breath/wildlife, those that are less fortunate, and want to feed greedy millionaires even more $ than I guess Trump is your guy. If you don't believe any of those things are the case then you have been misinformed and need to do more research. I HAVE.

Rofl. You clearly are the one who is ignorant and misinformed, and haven't done jack shit for research. Clinton wasn't impeached for having an affair you clown. He was impeached for committing perjury to a grand jury and obstructing justice. His actions were so egregious that he was fined, and also lost his law license for life.

You mention that Trump committed multiple impeachable offenses, but then dont even mention what offenses you claim he committed? You know why? Because he hasn't committed any.

More research... what an ass-clown.

I'll bet big bucks that you didnt even know that Nixon wasnt even involved in Watergate at all. He was impeached for being involved in trying to cover up the subsequent investigation...just like Clinton was not impeached for blowing his load all over the intern, but trying to obstruct the investigation.

dear god you people just make up your own history. Slicky was impeached because he went to witnesses in a grand jury trial and told them to lie under oath, not because he got a blowjob. Additionally he perjured himself by lying during sworn testimony with a slicky-semen filled blue dress as proof.

Clinton was impeach for committing perjury. He lied under oath giving testimony in a court of law. He was also caught witness tampering, on tape telling Monica Lewenski to lie about their affair.

He law license issued by the state of Arkansas was subsequently suspended because of perjury, the Supreme Court was considering whether or not he should be disbarred, but he resigned before they ruled on the matter.

Trump has committed ZERO CRIMES AND NO IMPEACHABLE OFFENSES. His impeachment is strictly a political matter, something the founding fathers sought to make impossible.

The Democrats have been talking about impeachment since 2016. They've initiated unprecedented and unjustified investigations into him, going on three years and counting. They illegally spied on him, they raided his lawyers office, they arrested his friends and associates, always looking for dirt on Trump and hoping to flip anybody on anything. They have committed every crime against Trump that they accuse Trump of, and they still haven't found an impeachable offense.

They Democrats get away with this stuff because they're given cover by their criminal corrupt colluding always lying democratic media.

The people will decide in 11 months, it ain't going to be pretty for the Democrats.

Is this a possible crazy as scenario . If the house refuses to pass impeachment onto senate do they sit on it until trump gets re elected with the hope the senate goes democratic to pass on at later date. These clowns are a disgrace.

^^^^^ that may be plausible, but I think they'll be all kinds of maneuvering before then. That may actually create a constitutional crisis. It would also divide us even more.

Some Democrats are actually talking about impeaching him again. That's how little regard they really have for a very serious process
