That just brings us back to the first post I made. DJIA takes all available information into account, so that it the best model we have, and it can be further broken down by sector as well -- energy, finance, manufacturing, retail, technology, etc. So long as Trump handles everything correctly, poverty, unemployment, and crime will remain low, and health effects will be minimal. If he fucks things up, poverty, unemployment, and crime will go up, and health effects will be large. It doesn't have to be doom and gloom -- and it most likely will not be.

Why? Ten people may have 10 different vastly varying predictions in their models.

How would you know which one is right?

Where's your model, if you are so sure of the future being doom & gloom, great depression type stuff or worse?

What would you be basing that opinion on?

whether one model is right or wrong is irrelevant... the Virus models seem to be all over the map... but that hasn't stopped us from seeing that part of the equation..

Why is it a problem to want to know what the ramifications are going to be going forward

I suppose most of us would like a look into a crystal ball showing the future. Models won't give us that, so what's the point. Why not just look up what economist experts have to say. Though i expect they'll have widely differing opinions, just like with the models re COVID-19 deaths & such.

Chinese virus models are nothing more than a looking at the future.. That doesn't seem to be an issue..Economist experts are fine.. just want information on what we can expect to see going down this path.... just not enough models , info , etc out there right now for us to see the other side.. feel like I'm repeating myself here. I would have thought what I'm looking for is pretty clear

I started a thread on the subject, but there wasn't much if any interest, just the usual trolling.

A google search should lead to enough info to keep anyone busy 24/7 for days:

Here's one article from that search:

"Why COVID-19 Won’t Trigger Another Great Depression

Amid rising unemployment, with nearly 17 million Americans filing recently for unemployment benefits, and with nearly 30% of the economy now idled, many economists are suggesting that COVID-19 could lead to another Great Depression. I disagree for one important reason: the massive doses of liquidity and federal expenditures being injected into the economy.

Might as well keep everything closed indefinitely and keep more people from dying because the greatest depression has started. It already was going to happen, but at least now they can blame the Chinese and CV for the economy falling apart.
