stage 20. As at kermit mentions could be a shit show. Riders with little time to repair face another demanding stage and weather may be an issue. Now or never for the climbers and for those in 'striking' distance; Quintana, Aru, Porte,Bardet, Yates .......................... anything left in the tank? :)

Not much left to report as stage 20 was supposed to produce fireworks among the top guns and nothing happened really. I will try to come up with some reason why Anyone but Chris Froome might win next year's 2017 Tour ! One thing seems obvious is that past Champions like Contador, Nibali, Wiggins have no chance anymore and Froome's future competition will come from new and younger foes.

Chris Froome is the official winner of this year's Tour De France. Andre Greipel won today's sprint finish. I will give my opinions for next year's race as sometimes I make my wagers way in advance in order to get the best odds.

Thomas And Froome

“It has been a remarkable few weeks," said Thomas, who finished 15th overall.
“The strength of the team has been phenomenal.
“We had five climbers to support Froomey and we have all led big races individually and all come together.
“It is one thing having good individuals but coming together coming as a team is another.
“There are no egos and every day was all about Froomey and we all paid off"

Froome:

"These events put sport into perspective but they also show why the values of sport are so important to free society," Froome said on Sunday in a prepared speech. "We all love the Tour de France because it's unpredictable but we love the Tour more for what stays the same — the passion of the fans for every nation, the beauty of the French countryside and the bonds of friendship created through sport. These things will never change.

"Thanks for your kindness in these difficult times," Froome added,

"My teammates have emptied themselves every day, so it was important to show on the finishing line this is a team sport, this is what it's all about, what we've worked for," Froome said. "It's amazing, amazing. It doesn't wear off after two times. Rolling on the Champs-Elysées is the same, it's an amazing feeling."

kermit, enjoyed reading your posts......

Ricboff,
Thanks !
i enjoyed your comments and posts as well. At times it seems like only the 2 of us are enjoying The Tour but I'm sure there are others. It's a great spectacle to fill the gap until football starts up. Good Luck to you and I hope to have you join me next year and help relay the events !

I just spent some time reading a interesting article about Team Sky. Why are they so dominate ? First and foremost it's all about the Money. They take in far more money and spend far more money than any of the other teams. However they do not throw their money around carelessly. It's their attention to all the details that set them aside ! When I read that they send advance team to the Hotel that the cyclists are staying at and remove any dust from rooms and make sure each rider has their own pillows and Mattress, it explains to me why they are so strong ! They plan who will be their participating team based upon the profile of the course. They have so much depth that their backup team could give their starting team a good run for their money. Of course having Chris Froome to finish the job is their exclamation point ! How do you beat them ? Well right now I must make my pick for next year and no surprise it's Chris Froome !

I am seeing odds for next year's Tour with Chris Froome at LESS then even Money. I would wait until we find out what the 2017 course profile is released. I would expect the organizers to try to make the race far more competitive next year. This year's was a little on the boring side as far as the total dominance by Chris Froome ! How do they make the race less to Chris Froomes liking ? One easy way is to take away the 2 individual Time Trials. He was so dominant in the 2'this year and it made up a Lions share of his victory margin. Also he didn't like the cobblestones so I expect to see them and perhaps a little retooling the mountain stages to be less to his liking. I'll pass on these terrible odds and wait to see what the course will be like in 2017. I'll repost once I find out.

It's close to the start of the Tour De France. This year the race seems more wide open. Chris Froome hasn't been in top form and Richie Porte seems ready to contend. So who do you put your money on ? For me I'm trying to figure on what's going on with Chris Froome. Is he simply playing possum or is he losing his dominance? Richie Porte seems to be in top form as he's now become dominant in The Time trials and he always could climb. My problem with putting my Money on him is he hasn't done well in the big races up until now. Chris Froome is still the favorite with oddsmakers with Porte closely behind. So who will I pick ? I'm going with the defending champion Chris Froome and his awesome Team Sky.

hope all is well , kermit

with ya on Froome, +125 to repeat for me. Porte may be in better form, but Team Sky is deeper than BMC

even though Froome likes Porte, lol;

“I don’t think so,” Froome told cyclingnews.com when asked whether he held a mental edge over Porte.<iframe class="teads-resize" style="box-sizing: border-box; width: 557.672px; height: 0px !important; min-height: 0px !important; border-width: initial !important; border-style: none !important; margin: 0px !important; padding: 0px !important; display: block !important;"></iframe>
“I’d still say that Richie was far and away the strongest man in the race. He did get caught out tactically, his team did get caught out tactically today, but I still say that he’s the favourite for July and the strongest rider in the peloton at the moment.”

All is well here. I no longer live in Vegas but I still get,a,wager down every now and then. After helping Chris Froome win, it wouldn't break my heart if Richie Porte won ! Of course my favorite team is always the team I make the most money on.
