Well final is simply a show day for the sprinters. Tomorrow will be individual time trial and I really would be surprised to see any change in top 3 places. 2 nd and 3 rd place should be close ! Great performance today by Thomas as he increased his lead over Dumoulin to 2 minutes and 5 seconds !
Roglic was terrific today but he’s no threat to Thomas. Sad finish for Landa as all that effort and nothing gained to speak of.
With all the booing that Chris Froome had to endure during this entire Tour, I’d have to admire how he stuck in there in today’s brutal stage. You could see he was in pain, but he hung in there. I guess that’s what has made him a 4 time champion. No doubt at his age, his Giro/Tour De France double proved to be too much ! I doubt he has any chance to make a podium position barring a spill by any of the 3 in front of him. I’m sure He will want to come back next year BUT will he be Team Sky’s leader ?
Primos Roglic lost his 3 rd place spot on the podium to Chris Froome in what must have been a disappointing Time Trial for him. Most experts expected Roglic to hold off Froome but now I see why Chris put in such a gutsy ride yesterday ! Dumoulin wins today’s time trial as he is the World Time Trial Champion. Geraint Thomas finished 3 rd today and clinched the Tour De France Championship !
