By what theory? That FSU dominated their opponents last year means Marshall dominating the likes of Rice, MTSU, and Old Dominion are the same? Lmao. You need to have some intelligence to discuss football.
That's just my point. All of Marshall's opponents were weak. And the ACC was the weakest Power 5 conference last year. We still don't know what FSU would have done in the SEC or the Pac-12 last year if they had had a tough week to week schedule. Outside of maybe Clemson, in the ACC they had a very easy schedule that was very favorable to going undefeated. I believe Oregon could have done the same thing against those teams. Probably Baylor too.

Bringing up Marshall is meaningless. They have not played a single power 5 conference team. And the ACC was weak and FSU destroyed those teams like they should have. You show me a team in a power 5 conference that has done that this year, they would be #1. But there's not. So there's no real point you are making.

And to diminish what FSU did last year and comparing their opponents to Marshall's is insane. Even Clemson beat Georgia and Ohio St last year. FSU absolutely raped Clemson like they were an FCS team. What FSU did last year was amazing by any standards, even if the ACC was a weaker conference.

Let's evaluate the situation; forget homer status: We have a 4 team playoff with 5 power conferences involved; musical chairs with one auto loser..!!!..Now; make it 8 teams; every 5 power conference guaranteed a spot; perhaps with a qualifier of needing to have top 12 ranking or something.then have the arguments of at-large teams; probably one to sec; then b*tch about last 2 spots..!! The way it is today is a sure way to upset everyone; except Ala, of course...jmho..gl

Maybe these teams haven't won big because there isn't a bunch of weaklings in these other conferences. A round robin conference schedule is one of the toughest to play in the Big 12. And the Pac-12 is probably the most solid conference from top to bottom in the country. There are few bad teams in that conference. But comparisons are meaningless until they actually play. I think there is a lot of pressure on the SEC this year to win the first playoff. If they don't get it done they lose some of their clout, and I doubt we'll ever see two SEC teams get in any future playoffs.

Are you saying those conferences are strong?? Lol. PAC-12 most solid from top to bottom?? I can't even deal with this nonsense. Good luck on your endeavors!

If they have the controversy this year that I think they could have, I believe they will go to an 8 team playoff in the near future. It solves so many problems by doing that. But like everything else that they try to change in this country, they have to always take baby steps. And so we start with the 4 team playoff. I think they were crazy for not doing a dry run on this playoff last year. They might have had a few of the kinks ironed out before this year's playoff.

That was the point i was trying to make to this hard head. After all of those easy wins over weak teams it came down to a miracle comeback in the BCS title game. It's not how you win, it's who you beat. I've been saying it for years...

And yet they won the national championship against one of the toughest SEC teams. Not sure what point you are trying to make because if your point is that FSU would have a tougher time in the SEC, that's my entire point in this thread, lol.

I'd love to see a poll taken and see the results if fsu last yr wasone of the greatest teams of all time. I can think of 2 or 3 better fsu teams under Bowden that were better.

Not just the SEC. They would have had a much tough time winning the Pac-12 and Big 12 too. That's my point too..

They handled their business in impressive fashion. When you have a TCU team fighting to win against Kansas and giving up 61 to Baylor. There's no comparison. Oregon losing at home to Arizona, struggled against Wazzu, shown many weaknesses on defense, no comparison. FSU had legit talent last year regardless of what conference they were in. You have to be somewhat rational. Oregon is my favorite team and this is their worst team in the last 4 years in terms of talent. Handle your business against teams you should beat and you'll be fine. The SEC has to handle their business against teams that would be favored against any other conference. Arkansas would be favored against any Big-10 team this season and they are 1-5 in the SEC. Regardless of previous years or future years. This year, the SEC has by far the most talent on the field. Not even close.

Let's hope UT or Arky can beat Mizzou.....UGA will beat Bama. That would throw a huge wrench in the process.

Ark favored against ohio st. Come on their great team with Mallet couldn't even beat Osu. Remember they were 10-2 that yr in the great sec and Osu still beat that team. No offense but some of your statements are comical.

Lol, this ark team is Wisconsin with more athletic players other than Gordon of course. Ark would be a very difficult game for Ohio St. They are actually a pretty good team.
