I guess this isn't impressive to you at all:

- Rodman earned NBA All-Defensive First Team honors seven times
- Voted NBA Defensive Player of the Year twice
- Led the NBA in rebounds per game for a record seven consecutive years
- Won five NBA championships (1989, 1990, 1996, 1997, 1998)

Rodman was only 6'8''. He dominated a world where players were much taller than him. A lot of players struggle to win one championship, many great players won't ever win one, Rodman managed to contribute and be a Champion 5 times.

Plus look at what Phil Jackson had to say about him:

The greatest athlete according to Phil Jackson

After receiving an honorary doctor of letters degree from his alma mater, University of North Dakota, Lakers coach Phil Jackson touched upon a range of subjects from the school’s nickname to the greatest athlete he has ever coached.

And it wasn’t Michael Jordan. Or Kobe Bryant. Or Shaquille O’Neal. Not Karl Malone, Derek Fisher, Rick Fox, Scottie Pippen, Steve Kerr, Bill Cartwright or Smush Parker (OK, so he might not belong).

No, the player Jackson called the greatest that he has coached is that wedding dress aficionado and Newport Beach police’s favorite basketball bad boy, Dennis Rodman. That’s right. No need to rub your eyes.

“He could probably play a 48-minute game and play the 48th minute stronger than the first minute of the game,” Jackson told the crowd at UND. “He was that terrific an athlete.”

Rodman was great at what he did, defense and rebounding - but you can't
name someone to the top 50 players of all time who had no offensive game, no way - not even close.

Rodman led the NBA in field-goal percentage (.595) in 1988-89. Has appeared in 169 career NBA Playoff games, averaging 6.4 ppg and 9.9 rpg

What do you mean "no offensive skills"? LOL. Yeah, its too bad he pretty much gave up on offense and was only interested in rebounding and not scoring. That is the only reason he's not top 50.

You are deluded. Rodman couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with
a basketball. It's not that he "gave up on offense" as you say - he just
plain sucked at it.

Evidence: Did you ever watch Rodman try and make a free throw?

Don't get me wrong, I loved to watch Rodman play, he was an
amazing player at what he did - but he was a total liability at the
offensive end, and therefore should not even be considered for the
top 50 of all time, period.

Rodman led the league in fg % in 1988/1989 - but he only averaged
8 pts a game. They had to have been mostly dunks and lay-ups.

Yeah, I was kidding when I posted that stat. Maybe you missed the "LOL." The key is, the teams he played with and won championships with didn't need his scoring, he focused on other things to make his team much better. And like I said, not top 50, but top 70 yes. I just think he's one of the all time greats and unfortunately we will never see another guy like him.

Definitely, honorable mentions, if not one of the top 50.

Duncan In. James Worthy Out.

Worthy was great. Top 50? Pushing it imo.

NBA champion (1985, '87, '88); NBA Finals MVP (1988); All-NBA Third Team (1990, '91); All-Rookie Team (1983); Seven-time NBA All-Star (1986-92); One of 50 Greatest Players in NBA History (1996).

7 time All-Star is impressive.

All NBA 3rd Team twice? Not impressive.

Also playing with Kareem and Magic didn't hurt his cause. Give me Duncan over him.

If u had to take someone out... I would say Rick Barry did less than Clyde Drex or maybe Worthy... or Parish (but I think Parish>Worthy)--and put in TIMMY or KG.

they did top 50 to celebrate 50 years of the NBA, they'll do top 100 once it reaches 100 years old.

any list of greatest players that doesnt include dominique wilkens is bogus....

could easily sub him for robert parrish.

as of this very moment a top 50 list would include :

kobe
lebron
duncan
garnett
stockton ( if he isnt already on there , might have missed his name )

stockton is on there.. if he wasn't--the world would be robbed of the tightest white guard known to man. Although, you can't put LBJ in there yet--he's got more to prove. He could go fucking insane in the head next year and get hopped up on X/crank/etc lol... too young to put him on there.
