Well I'd love to sit here and tell you that I played the Red Sox yesterday and kept the chase going...but I can't. I was travelling back home and didn't put any early plays in and thus missed the Red Sox (I did get home in time to get hammered on the Rangers though). So the chase takes another hit on Saturday and missed the chance to recover on Sunday.

Well there's just too much going on up in Boston for me to play this series. I had planned all along to play the Red Sox (and it's probably a safe play) but the Sox have 3 shaky yet talented starters going and the Rangers have Millwood (a grinder but not great lately), a young Holland, and a total wild card in Padilla. Better to lay off that series and take some other plays:

Haven't decided yet if I'm going to lay it all on the Cardinals today or not. A lot of trends point towards a high total but not a lot that says that Cardinals bats are going to break out of the funk they've been stuck in. Thrown in the 1.85 runs/game support that Pineiro has received in May (he didn't help himself out with a 7+ ERA in May) and I just don't think I can lay it on the Cardinals with much confidence. I know that MJ and Broncos (two of the cappers that I respect the most) have the Cardinals today but I just don't have a good feeling about it right now. That might change as we get closer to the game though so I might come back with another play later.

Laying off the Cardinals sure saved some coin today. I'm considering changing this up to an AL only chase. Here's why:

Once again I'm laying off the Rangers for now. Like them alright tonight but just got word that McCarthy is heading to the DL tmrw. Also, with Millwood going Wednesday (he doesn't typically fare well vs the Blue Jays) and the possibility of Matt Harrison replacing Holland in the rotation on Thursday, there is simply too much uncertainty for me to make a move.

I love Oakland tonight but not as sold on a series. Back tomorrow...
