I look at a strategy standpoint.
Lets say you are a good player and this is the final year of your contract. It could be easier NOT to play and NOT risk injury and save the wear and tear on their bodies for a year in order for a LARGER payday in the upcoming seasons.

Ant this is the difference between a Democrat and a Republican. 0.001% of anyone under 65 has died of COVID yet you think they are making the right decision for their family.
The right decision is to make money and contribute to the team risking nothing (based on actual statistical data). Heard of Donovan Mitchell or Rudy Goebert? Two guys that had Covid and now playing in intense NBA basketball games. Athletes are risking zero to compete and your opinion on the matter is based on your feeling not scientific data.
