Young celebrity deaths can be extra shocking, even though we don't know the person. We've all experienced and will experienced death and many times sudden shocking deaths. With entertainment/sports stars these people often played a part in very big emotional surges that fans got from their work. In Kobe's case I feel bad for fans that grew up idolizing him, how often did they look forward to a big Laker game and when Kobe was doing great things they got huge emotional highs triggering all sorts of body chemistry as they jumped up from their couch to celebrate or high five other strangers that were fans in the arena that night. Stars mostly cause connections with other people that are fans or admirers. We likewise connect with public personas on low levels sometimes, missing a last sec shot of a close out playoff or championship game and we see players crying sitting on the floor or on the bench. For many Laker and Hoops fans, Kobe represents a big part of their youth, and his death is a remember of losing all the of all the good and bad from that time period.

I think mostly Deaths like Kobe's and the young people on that flight, suddenly remind us of deep truths that we all know deep down but keep below the surface 99% of the time. We are all going to die, and no tommorrow is promised to us. Seeing someone with Fame and $ also be so susceptible to the fragility of life is jarring as we see that if they can get cut down in a prime age, then any of us or our loved ones could experience the same.

some people unknowingly use a celebrity death as a safer vehicle to navigate feelings of unprocessed grief they have for a recent or long ago death of someone they know in real life. A healthy transference can occur and allow the person to allow emotions they have repressed to come to the surface in a less threatening way. Everyone grieves differently and just knowing that a very public death like this can have some people dealing with some very difficult things below the surface should give one pause in how they communicate about it. You never know what baggage someone is bringing into this.

hell of a post

If you expect nothing less, why do you keep coming back? Is negative attention better than none at all?

What are you talking about, retard?

I expect nothing less because this is an Internet forum with a lot of right wing extremists/kkk wannabes.

So you think because of that I should stop coming back? Bahahahhaha hahahahaha LOL. Last thing in the world ima do is let a kkk klan member dictate how I live my life. You’re a full blown dumbass dude. Just stop before I lump you in with them

Agree this is a great post. Especially the last part. Everybody grieves different and past losses not dealt with appropriately can trigger an emotional response here and may help bring more closure dealing with more of a public figure that the entire world is grieving about.

Just absolutely asinine for people in here to say they don’t understand why people are sad about Kobe. Lmfao fucking nazis man

I'm 47. This seems to feel like my generations JFK moment. Now that i'm a family man, it hurts even more when I look at my kids. I can't imagine what his wife Vanessa is going through. Hats off to the Laker organization. If you've noticed they have yet to make a statement. It's because (per Ramon Shelbourne, ESPN), Jeanie Buss, Gen Mgr Rob Pelinka, and other Laker staff, are with Vanessa for support.

Why do people fly helicopters in bad weather
Since i've quit gambling, I've taken up aviation as a new hobby. After talking with a bunch of different friends in the ATC and aviation community, we are all in agreement this is 100% pilot error. This copter was a top of the line executive, twin turbo, copter with all the bells and whistles technology wise. He was in a place he shouldn't have been and he was didn't know where he was. He flew right into the mountain thinking he was clearing it.

Kobe literally grew up in front of us. We saw him grow from boy, to man, to father to wise sage. Its sad that one of the last videos we'll see of him is the one with his daughter breaking down the Hawks / Nets game to her. She was his hoop buddy.

i'm certainly no aviation guy, but from reading another board it appears weather was a huge factor. if anything perhaps the decision to fly in such conditions is your 'pilot error' . That decision is certainly , or rather should be, on the pilot. He flew right into the mountain cause he ddint see it. He tried hovering in the hope the clouds/fog would clear.

LAPD spokesperson Josh Rubenstein said the fog was severe enough that the department's Air Support Division grounded its helicopters in the morning.

You’re so full of shit dude. It’s all good. You’d never meet anyone in this forum in person let alone talk to them like you do.

And if you say you wouldn’t want to meet anyone here, then why are you here?

You’re annoying as fuck. I use to give you the benefit of the doubt, but you are exactly what your persona betrays, and it’s exactly why you hide behind a keyboard. Keep it real “nigga”

i never knew archie posted here

the thing is, certain people about this death will say:

1. who cares to work so hard, you are gone the next day. dont sacrifice with a strong work ethic when you are gone in a second

2. others will say since you can be gone in that minute, thats the reason to work hard

really depends on your mental state to begin with in my opinion
