Agreed. I still say he's not even CLOSE to what many people (especially the analysts on TV) think he is. He has a LOT to learn and I'm just doubtful that he ever will learn it. Was a nice win though. Not too impressive given the opponent, but definitely a nice confidence booster for the whole team.

I like Kap and think he's got a bright future but I'm not ready to "crown him" yet. I think his win in N.E. last year was one of the most impressive.

Alex smith is better.

And it's not even close

That is ridiculous comment. Alex Smith isn't allowed to throw past 10 yards down the field in kc's offense. He is check down charlie if ive ever seen one. Kap is the better qb

That's how he was in SF. The guy doesn't have a strong arm so he makes the little throws. He's a very good game manager but he's not a potential MVP like Kaep.

He is just a game managing qb.....he never even attempts to the type of throws good nfl qb's make.. Underneath and check downs is the entire offense.

I know you can't blame Smith for the loss but he had a wide open guy 15 yards down field for a touchdown that would have likely wrapped up the win and missed him by a good 5 yards. Then on the final 4th down play he threw the ball out of bounds. Smith is a sturdy option but he's not a guy that wins games late. He's the guy that minimizes mistakes and relies on his defense and rushing attack... Maybe one day he'll Dilfer his way to a ring.

A. Smith had an unreal game even without his primary running option in the backfield. I don't have a bad thing to say about how he played yesterday.

Hmmm shdw.... No offense but I think Smith is far better than Dilfer every dreamed of being...:toast:

I actually think Alex Smith is a better version of Sam Bradford and Bradford will be lucky to reach Alex's level...

I think Alex Smith is underrated by the media what Kapernick is overrated by the media. Safe to say that neither of them is as good as Luck

Alex Smith played a nice game yesterday. He made a few bad throws that hurt the team. But, KC ran the ball 11 times in the 2nd half.
Andy Reid strikes again!

I dunno who is doing the "rating" but Kaep doesn't look too overrated to me.

1 guy made plays to put his team in position to win in the 4th quarter

the other guy didn't

Come on dude. The guy had them up 38-10 in the 3rd Q. You want him to play defense too?

And...he didn't have J Charles.

Nah I wouldn't expect him to do anymore than he did, that is kinda the point

they scored 38 and then the last 25 mins of the game could only muster a few field goals (1 on a short field)

he played above expectation but ultimately if you need him to make plays in the 4th quarter you are probably going to lose...KC knew they needed their D to win them games late all year and it didn't. It is nothing against Smith really, he just is what he is

I'll reiterate as well, Kaep didn't look too overrated to me with 2 huge 4th quarter drives in 5 degree weather to send A Rodgers and co. home for the winter...

We'll see how Kaep fares against a better defense. I will admit that he did look good today. Smith looked fine yesterday too. Bad breaks with injuries for K.C. Good break for SF with injuries as SF is now back at full strength basically.

I will still take Russell Wilson over either of them though...

Seemed to fare pretty well from the end of the 1st half and on

Some big drives on the road vs a legit carolina D

Guess we can stop the "overrated" stuff? I'll let enfuego rule on that though
