$25 NCAA BCS Championship Side Winner:

Florida Gators -3

Do these guys take the Gators at 5' to 6 which was the line this AM? How can they give -3? That's like saying take the Sooners. I'm mystified.

I know, I was pissed when I bought it and saw that, the line hasn't been -3 for a week. I'm still playing FL up to 6, but above that, not sure what to do.

20 Units Florida (-5½) over Oklahoma

Comments: One could write a book on the explosive unstoppable offenses of both teams but that has been hashed over to the point of boredom. It is simply great skill players, great speed and quickness—power on power. With that said, my figures say there are only two edges in this game and Florida has both of them. First of all, this is basically a home game for Florida and two-thirds of the capacity crowd of 75,192 will be backers of Florida—definitely a factor in a game of this important. Carrying even more weight is the fact Florida does one thing Oklahoma does not—it plays defense. The Gators were 5th in the country in points allowed (12.8 points per game) 2nd in interceptions (24) and 8th in total yards allowed (279.3) Oklahoma was nowhere defensively, giving up an average of 24.5 points and 359.1 yards per game. In the end, the home field edge and a defense that stopped some of the best teams in the country will get the win and the cover. It also is significant the big bettors of the world started pouring it in on Florida Wednesday morning.

BCS Championship Game @Dolphin Stadium - Miami, FL

Florida –3 over OKLAHOMA PINNACLE

I’m usually not in favor of spotting a potent offense any points but there are just too many reasons to like the Gators here with the first being that the game is practically in their backyard. Even more significant is that the Gators have a huge edge defensively and that’s going to the big difference in this contest. Both teams can score at will but playing on the road against a great defense with six weeks off gives Florida a significant edge. Furthermore, when Sooners QB Sam Bradford wins the Heisman as predicted, that week of non-stop media gluttony is not a good thing; just ask Tim Tebow, who put on six pounds that week following the announcement and lost to Michigan. I also like Urban Meyer in a big game over Bob Stoops. Stoops’ has a very average record in big games while Meyer is money. Call the offenses equal but the Gators have a decided edge on defense and coaching and that’s why the Gators will seal the deal. Play: Florida –3 (Risking 2.28 units to win 2).

***This is NOT Randall the Handle's selection for this game, the pick is from his website which is located at: http://www.randallthehandle.com/index.asp

However, Randall the Handle only posts his NFL selections there, all of the rest of the picks from that site are done by another guy who in my opinion (from reading his stuff over the past few years) is not very good.

...just thought I would let you know.

Take care and be well my friends

Dirtydog
