THIS is why the USC line bugs me

Ohio State might have been overrated before but how they are overrated now? They are a 10.5 point underdog when three weeks ago the line was 3.5? Ohio State is hardly overrated now by the oddsmaker and if you're handicapping games the oddsmaker is all you're worried about. The oddsmaker has made up for the apparent "overratedness" of Ohio State.
How are they over-rated.
They were #1 before they almost lost to Ohio last week.:ohno:
Get a clue sonny. That's called being over-rated.

I go by the consensus lines that the majority of the people can get. The closing line at 95% plus was Texas -9. No, I'm not a mister know it all but I can assure you that when people state factually false information that I will correct it. You said that LSU was a double digit favorite over OSU last year and that couldn't be further from the truth. I am sure it is easier to argue with people who will just believe your statements as gospel but some of us have enough sense to correct your errors.

No sense arguing with you because your a Mister Know-It-All...

My line was 6 because my local was from Iowa. I guess you also think lines only revolve around offshore sportsbooks.

My brother-in-law who lives in Ca. was given 13 from his book. He called the bet in with my Dad who lives in Pgh and his local has 9.

Polls are meaningless to a handicapper except for the fact that they help create perception, which is wrong most of the time. They are not overrated by the oddsmaker. The line has gone up 7 points in less than a month. I don't care about polls or who is rated what, I care about what the oddsmaker has made the line. As I said, to the oddsmaker they are no longer overrated.
How are they over-rated and that's all I am concerned about. The only one that doesn't have a clue is you and that's been proven about four times in this very thread. I have only had to correct your mis-facts four times so far.

I meant that LSU beat them by dd and embarrassed Tressell's coaching ability to win another Big Game.

Come see me after the game on Saturday......:grandmais

Have you ever had a sprained ankle from playing a football game. I have in college. You can't run on that ankle unless you get a shot in it.
But what happens is the shot wears off and the ankle starts to swell up and he'll be useless back on the bench in the second half.

woody.. i'm sure you were a hell of an athlete in college but please dont compare yourself to beanie wells

USC might still cover and they might win by 50 but it won't change the fact that the line has moved 7 points in three weeks. How often does that happen? The perception is that USC is so much better because they blew Virginia out and Ohio State struggled against Ohio in a look-ahead game. Personally I don't think that's enough information to judge this game off of. I am not even sure I will play Ohio State but I know I won't be on USC. Why would I want to play the as a double digit favorite now? USC has played one game and looked great against a bad team. That's not enough for me to say this line should be what it is now.

Or maybe he hasn't. Would a 20 point USC win say they are still overrated?

USC doesn't have half the play makers as the Florida or LSU championship teams.

Wells will be fine, he will have 2 full weeks to come back from an ankle injury that isn't very serious.

This like was like 3.5, and what has changed? USC spanked a shitty Virgina team, and OSU was sleep walking though easy games. USC had a bye week to prepare, OSU used ohio as a bye week to prepare for USC.

Plain and simple OSU has a great defense, if they can score 14 points they cover this game.

one other thing to look at ohio state beat youngstown state something like 47-0 well last weekend south dakota state beat youngstown state by almost the same score I think youngstown acually did get a touchdown I think it was like 45-7 so if ohio state is on the same level as sdsu then buckeyes are in some real trouble imo

Nice attempt to cover your mistake. See below - I asked when the last time Tressell was a DD Dog and you responded by asking what I was smoking and said "they were a dd dog to LSU last yr." then put a smiley face. I really don't think that was a typo that you meant they beat LSU by DD when you were responding to me with a question of when was the last time they were a double digit dog. Nice try though.

Besides that was the only big game that Tressell has won over the last 5 years.

Most of those consensus line are bullshit. Anyone that has been gambling for many years knows that.
Do you really think that some sportsbook is really going to tell you who the money is on.
The closing line in Vegas might have been -9, but not with every bookie in every state.

All Big books in Pgh had the Steelers a 7-10 pt favorite this week. Offshore and Vegas only 6-6.5

and we all know that comparing scores is meaningless and ludicrous. Stanford beat USc last year and UC Davis beat Stanford so I guess UC Davis was better than USC. I think you get the picture.

Some of you are ridiculous.

It doesn't matter what the scores of games against horrible teams. OSU beat Ohio by 12, so every team that beats them by more should be ranked in the top 5? No, it's irrelavant.

Just like USC winning 52-7, it's no different then 35-10

Yes, dumbass. I corrected Woody and said that LSU was favored by 4.5 points. HE SAID LSU was favored by Double Digits. Wow, the level of intelligence on this board is low.

USC's 4th team would have put 50 on Ohio by the 3rd qtr. Bucks were punting all day. The cheap shot Theo Scott or they lose.

I know the line of the LSU-Ohio State game. I was correcting another one of Woody's "mis-statements".

They were a 4.5 point underdog to LSU last year. They were a 7 point favorite to Florida. What am I smoking? The facts. You might want to research before you start distorting the facts.
