And for a casino not to offer surrender should tell you all you need to know.

I only know of 1 casino in Louisiana that offers surrender

I was at Foxwoods Sunday, a few players surrendered while I was there. I don't, doesn't really make a difference to me as I play BJ about 4 times a year, for very few hours.
I could see for a counter or a pro how it would be smart.

Point being, for as few hours I play in general, I see it quite a bit. Not that uncommon.

Spot on. Casinos generally don't cease to offer something because it was a bad deal for the player. Sort of like all these Vegas casinos that have tried to sucker people with 6-5 rather than 3-2.

I don't think anyone is disputing what the math says.

More of a preference for a lot and I'm never doing it under any circumstance. Many times when I've hit 16 and made 20 and 21. I get agitated if we are having a great run and somebody changes the deck with a bad hit/stand or surrender.

I play basic strategy for 20 years and I haven't seen surrender very often used or offered anymore.

Ya, it's your money, man. You're free to do with it as you see fit. My comment is more in response to ideas like that guy who said he doesn't surrender because he plays to win not to lose. It's a ridiculous comment. If you're not taking advantage of the option to surrender you are giving away money in the long run.

Yes....please explain the advantage. Would love to hear how you know more than everyone else who calculated the advantage

The .07 figure is an estimate for only late surrender and only if one is not counting cards. Multi deck late surrender is .09 just for basic strategy. The advantage for early surrender is > 10 times that amount, AND if one is counting cards, (as all BJ pros do), the advantage is much more than that.

Early Surrender:+0.62+0.62+0.63
Early Surrender (H soft17):+0.70+0.71+0.72
Early Surrender v. 10 only:+0.19+0.21+0.24

Late Surrender:+0.02+0.05+0.08
Late Surrender (H soft17):+0.03+0.06+0.09

Sigh. You do realize that other people's play has ZERO affect on your EV. None, 0 , nada, zippo.

If I'm at a table where somebody hits 15 against a 5.....it certainly changes the outcomes. For a pro....you gotta understand that right?

Wow. You don't even understand the basic concept of EV.

Let me try and bring the concepts down to a 3rd grade level for you. Their hitting 15 against a 5 is just as likely to help you as it is to hurt you, they could be taking a card that would bust your hand. Probability-wise and EV-wise, their play DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to affect your bottom line. NOTHING, ZIPPO, NADA. This is basic gambling 101, it has been mathematically proven, and been proven with monte-carlo simluations.

Got it? Any more questions?

How the fuck have I've been successful at poker and blackjack without this great advice? Why do you think players don't like mid shoe entry? If nobody else play has impact? Why do you see people get nuts when some moron sits at the table and fucks it up? Why do they move? Everybody but you huh.

Players that aren't retards don't like mid-shoe entry because it slows down the game.

People that "go nuts" at someone else's play (yourself being one) are complete retards.

Would you like to place a wager on the concept I'm trying to get through your thick skull? I.e. that other people's play does not
affect your EV (expected value) in blackjack. I'll bet any amount of money you'd like. I'll throw out $1K for starters, but
if you want to go $10K or more, I'm fine with that. OK?

I think he's also lying about being a winner at blackjack. It's extremely rare for a non-counter to be a lifetime winner at a -EV game. This is just a fact,
as you well know Chop. Of course Vitterd has a tall tale he tells about being a retired poker "pro" who made millions at the game, and now sits
at home hitting refresh on this site all day. Oh yeah, and he also is a huge winner at sports gambling. Funny all the tall tales one can tell when
sitting behind a computer screen.

Wager on what. That your opinion is different than mine. You guys come up with the weirdest bets. Any bet that is prediction of a future sports event .....never a taker though.

Total fucking liar. Never claimed to be a pro at anything.

My sports record over the last year here speaks for itself.
